  1. Easy Tiger says:

The groom shows the wedding parties cumulative value of taste, and also his bank account balance.

  2. Rosalie says:

If she stood at the top of a hill, and everyone held the train down the hill…the groom would have one awesome slide.

  3. KatieMB says:

    Um…. why????

  4. Lyndsey Catastrophe says:

And the whole point to this is what? Is there a reason that your train needs to be twice the length of the church your going to stand in?

  5. Michelle says:

I think we are going for a world record here…

  6. Niki says:

This is the definition of narcisism, people.

  7. Danica says:

Its not narcisism! It shows how much the groom loved the bride to let her wear a dress with a world record veil, thats all!

  8. Luce says:

I can see the train falling to the ground near the back there and some people rushing to try and keep it afloat by themselves.
I think the rule of thumb is only have your train be as long as you have the number of friends to off the ground.

  10. Irony says:

No, you’ve got it all wrong – she just had a LOT of relatives who ALL insisted they wanted to hold her train!

  11. Doll says:

It was definitely for a world record. Tacky as it is, it is original

  13. awww says:

I like that the crowd have fashioned it into the shape of a question mark. So as to pose the GIANT question of “wtf?”

  14. [...] is up with the cake topper? Why is the bride’s veil exxxtra long? And seriously, is that thing edible? Did someone do a taste test before it was ordered? I feel [...]

  15. elizabethanna says:

the dress itself is actually really pretty..
–Gods investment in you (his son) was so great, he could never abandon you!

  16. S.Azrael says:

I’m not sure if this broke the current record or not. I wish I could find the artical I saw a while back about a Sheik’s bride, and how he had to build a new stadium just to be able to hold the length of her train. Is this a viel or a train. If it’s a veil, then it could be it’s own world record.

  17. smiley says:

Aha! I bet that’s the longest I’ve ever seen! WTFOMGWOWROFLMFAO!

  18. hmph says:

I believe that is a train, if it were a veil it would not be opaque. I guess this alleviates the whole problem of who is to be in the wedding party… EVERYONE is.

  19. CactusJuicy says:

I think if they let go she might fly away.

  21. SuperK says:

I’d love to see this bustled.

  22. Charly says:

It bothers me that the dress is off-white and the veil is white. If you’re gonna do this, at least get matching fabric.

  23. [...] her crown is crooked, and the right side of her claw-piece boob covering looks crooked. Plus, that train looks longer than your average church aisle. I hope she made it through the wedding without drowning in her own [...]

  24. Aylsa says:

The story behind this has something to do with showing your wealth by the length of the train. Some cultures are silly, but I guess other places could say that about us!

  25. Sickness says:

See, I figure after the ceremony, the wedding party can stick some googley eyes to the train and do the happy dragon thing.

  26. [...] looks like the biggest, longest pain in the ass dress EVER. I thought I’d already seen the worst of the worst, but clearly I was wrong. I’m pretty sure there’s enough fabric on this woman’s [...]

  30. sophia (svpepper@gmail.com) says:

that is an awesome wedding train!

  31. Michi says:

According to several sources I found online, this bride was from Guangzhou, China. To me, this says some of the newly rich Chinese are showing off their wealth through conspicuous consumption. Ridiculous? Sure, but it isn’t any more so many of our customs. BTW, this is news because it is unusual. Dismissing it as just Japan’s “many weird qualities” is remarkably ethnocentric and bigoted, as well as being just plain wrong.
