It’s a toss-up! The two ladies at the hood look like they know what they’re doing, while the bride standing up looks like she’s panhandling for change. Maybe the battery died and they need a jump? What the hell kind of car is that? I realize this picture was taken at least 25 years ago, but are they riding around in the original Ghostbusters ambulance? Paging Dr. Venkman…

anyone read ‘rant’ by chuck palahnuik?
This looks like an Australian photo, and the car looks like it was in the Variety Club Bash – a charity event where people sign up in old cars, make them over with lights, sirens, decorations and sponsor signs, and then drive through the outback. Most teams have a theme as well, dressing in matching outrageous costumes.
Any other Aussies care to add something?
I agree, the logo on the roof rack is for ‘First National’, an Australian Real estate company, not sure if they are world wide!!
Nah, it’s Kiwi – see the “ANZ” on the side van? First National has been in New Zealand since 1985.
Um, you know what the A in ANZ stands for right?
It is possible this photo was taken during a charity event they hold in Western Australia. People get old cars, sponsors whose logos are placed on the car (the logo on this car is First National which is a real estate agency in Australia) and then try to complete the planned tour of country towns as fast as legally possible. Most people who take part either decorate the cars or wear humorous outfits. It has been over ten years since I lived in WA but I think it may have been called something bash. Local media personalities regularly take part so it gets good publicity each year. Hope interesting.
http://www.varietywa.org.au/bash – found it here.
I hope you guys are right about the charity event…
Otherwise, It’s just scary!
@Lorie Shewbridge
no, it’s just aussies gearing up for a cause
Looks like an XM or XP Falcon. (Mid to late 60′s.)
Omigosh, my first thought exactly! X)
Haha, I was just about to say that it looks a lot like it’s from Australia and I’m not the first! That in itself isn’t surprising, just the fact that there are intelligent commentors somewhere on the internet! Eureka!
I’d say it was a ’64 Ford Falcon. My grandfather had one when I was a young lad.
It’s a 60-63 Falcon, I have a ’61 (American version, this one is missing the turn signals in the grille – might be ’cause it’s Australian)
I was thinking about Rant by Palahnuik too. I really wonder if that’s what’s going on…hahaha.
Haha, I saw this pic and was going to say that it looks like some kind of fundraising event! I guess it was then.
car is aussie 64 falcon xm thanks
It goes to show how Aussie girls aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty, even on their wedding day. My dad had one of those Falcons in the mid 60′s.
Its a 64 Falcon
and I can tell you when we do things to raise money for a good cause we do it, that dress is about teh same age as the car, sadly the husband left before the dress!!!!!!!!!
Its not 25 years ago, that toyota landcruiser behind it was only released in the past 10-15 yrs. Agreed, Variety club race
That ‘bride’ with the back turned is most likely a bloke. Look at the size of ‘her’. So’s the one in the middle. That’s a white Toyota Landcruiser behind him and with the 3 vents above the rear lights that means it’s most likely a 1998 to 2002 model so the photo’s 10 years old at the most. Yellow licence plate on the Falcon so might be NSW.
Yeh, it’s the Redex Variety ‘Bash’. I’ve always wanted to go in this but never had the balls. People can get injured on this little adventure.
This can’t be more than a 10 year old picture, all the logos are very recent, ANZ Bank being on the background car, their logo was just updated this year from the one appearing here.
Did they break down on their way to Wedding Day at the Thunderdome?
