    This Goth-Matrix-Vampire-Victoriana-Schoolboy-Fetish Wedding appalls me on all fronts. No amount of genre hopping will make this schoolboy-bride-angel-submissive-vampire attractive. A bath perhaps?

  2. Lilly says:

    Are we sure it is a “she”?

  3. Patty says:

    To each their own, I guess. In 20 yrs when they live in the ‘burbs and have 3 kids, 1 dog, & a minivan…I hope they can laugh about this.

    • elizabethanna says:

      rofl your comment made my day.

      –Gods investment in you (his son) was so great, he could never abandon you!
      “I will never you leave you comfortless, I will come to you!”
      -John 14:18–

  4. bug says:

    Wait, are those binder clips holding the chain to her dress? Binder clips? Really? You went through all the trouble with the victorian poofy shirt and you settled for binder clips?

    On the plus side, you must feel pretty good about booking Keanu Reeves from the Matrix as your best man.

    • duh says:

      “That” is not binder clips. It is a tie with white crossed-striping. If you’re gonna take the time to comment; take the time to know what you are commenting on.

      • swill says:

        Oh, relax. The point of bug asking was because the tie wasn’t really apparent. It wasn’t just a lazy attempt at sapping away your time.

        Also, if you’re gonna take the time to form an overly aggressive response using a semicolon, take the time to know how to actually use one.

  5. geekers says:

    I’m just trying to figure out if that’s an upside-down cross or a lightning bolt on the guy on the right’s forehead.

  6. =p says:

    Man… when I was Goth, I had such better taste than this. -.-

  7. Bon says:

    Whoa. Really that’s all I have to say. Whoa.

  8. Yavai says:

    HARRY POTTER !

  9. :p says:

    @Lilly
    That’s what I’m wondering… haha.

  10. jesika says:

    so… man, woman? any guesses?

  11. Emeli says:

    Well what strikes me most about this photo is that the instant I saw it my face involuntarily mimicked the bride’s expression, bared teeth, slightly furrowed brow, half disbelieving, half unsure what’s going on.

  12. Been there says:

    There’s a fair chance the one in white is a bridesmaid, since the actual bride doesn’t show on pictures. Or mirrors.

  13. Elarain says:

    It looks like Marilyn Manson on a meth rip.@jesika

  14. cat says:

    lol wow! she wore white!! gasp!!!!

  15. Emily says:

    Three guys? Or two guys and a disturbing male looking woman? You decide.

  16. Carol says:

    Oh, Elarain….*sniffle…sniffle*…that’s so beautiful…..*sniffle..*….dammit, I always cry at weddings….

  17. Nyghtslave says:

    Unless I’m very much mistaken, this is a pic taken at Leipzig’s Wave Gothic Treffen, years back…

  18. NickDF says:

    It’s hard to tell, I mean it looks like the “bride” has breasts. But that could be faked. I think I see a tie under the dress, too. Also, it kinda looks like the “bride” is wearing glasses. That would be very ridiculous since there are sunglasses on “her” head. But then again, I think they might have a different definition of “ridiculous” than I do.

  19. Malisyn says:

    @Lilly
    Which one? They all look like they could go either way. Either way, they all look like they’re ready for meds.

  20. Maid Of Dishonor says:

    @Elarain Totally my thoughts. Also what’s up with the glasses on his/her head?

  21. punjabi says:

    some people are worth no more than our pity-inspired laughter

  22. Carol says:

    I think that’s glitter on the middle one’s face below the eyes…
    The more I look at this picture the more confused I get.

    • jennifer says:

      I agree!! so far i’ve come to this conclusion about the “bride”. fairy wings, that god awful dress, a white button down shirt under the dress, a tie, a choker necklace attached to a chain in the “groom’s” hand, the one on the right looks like a girl almost

  23. Elarain says:

    I decided to look at the guy on the right. (my right.)

    All I can hear in my head is “you spin me right round baby right round like a record baby…”

  24. Andy says:

    I guess the bride *might* not look too bad if she toned down the makeup, and stopped trying to wear everything in her closet at once.

  25. caitie says:

    guess it IS true…all the good ones are gay or taken. also, in this case, dead,resurrected AND taken.

  26. Thirteen says:

    @Lilly
    I was thinking that exact same thing.

  27. Druston says:

    I guess because I’m clearly as effed up as these people, I really rather like this. Not diggin’ the bride’s decision to put what looks like a school girl uniform top under her dress in that particular manner, but regardless. I even like her scrunchy ‘grrr-I’mma-eat-you’ face. It’s cute.

  28. myxo says:

    @bug
    It’s a tie.

  29. Kateri87 says:

    I’m going to have to say that this was at a sci-fi convention or something… Even us geeks/goths/punks don’t do this!

  30. Kateri87 says:

    …..Also… I think the one on our far right is actually a girl…

  31. Snow says:

    This isn’t even a wedding. It’s actually a photo of random visitors of the Wave Gotik Treffen festival in Germany.

  32. Casa says:

    @Druston
    They guys look like they put a little effort into their gear.. the chick… sloppy train wrek.

  33. rae says:

    I think we should all just be glad he has her(or it) on a leash. now if only we could find someone to hold his…and get them both a good old fashioned sterilization…

  34. Chris says:

    Wow, not my cup of tea, but more power to them for being unique and doing/acting/dressing how they please!

    Funny regarding all the negative comments – people nowadays are told over and over to ‘be yourself’, yet when they are ‘them,selves’, they get mocked relentlessly.

  35. kreepy says:

    does that chain go for “her” neck to that one’s fly?

  36. Mad_Hatteress says:

    Those aren’t glasses on her face, they are tattoos.
    No, the chain does not go from her nick to his fly, he is holding it in his hand. If you look, it is wrapped around his finger.

  37. Kittymouth says:

    Been there :There’s a fair chance the one in white is a bridesmaid, since the actual bride doesn’t show on pictures. Or mirrors.

    Best comment I’ve read so far! XD

  38. discopants says:

    So…about that sanctity of marriage…

    • Jahzzie says:

      Discopants, LMFAO This pic should be used as counter argument to gay marriage protesters.
      “Same sex marriage is an abomination to God and a disgrace!!” Oh yeah? and what do you call this then?
      As long as it’s a man and woman, suuuurreeeeee

  39. Sarah says:

    I knew this had to be fake.. C’mon. Marriage in the eyes of God, with the antichrist symbol engraved on their forehead?

  40. Tolling says:

    Well, the groom was gracious enough to put his…Creature…on a leash, but what about the guy to her left? Did he just wrap one around his chest?

  41. Tess says:

    @Elarain

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!! HILARIOUS!!!! “I promise to be moody and mecurial just to keep the neighbors away” OMG….I’m sorry, but I almost pissed my pants!!!

  42. Mandy says:

    *whispered* I sort of like this.. I’m a closet goth… not emo!

  43. TryingMyBest says:

    @Elarain

    hehehe… caboodle.

  44. bazaarbees says:

    @bug
    Actually, that’s her tie

  45. Danielle says:

    @Lilly
    thats what I was thinking! I’m not anti-goth, i usually love it…but this is a bit much.

  46. Cricket says:

    I like this…good for them! Not my particular style, but Im glad their day was in their way, and not “cookie-cutter”.

  47. Ashley says:

    @ =P, same here. I never went all-out goth. I dabbled. But most of my friends were. We had grand times at Victorian teas. And we loved all the same movies and musicals.

    Not all goths are into death and stuff. Some of us are just really into history and quiet. Hence the reason I became a librarian.

    While I would never be caught in something like THAT, I’ve seen some very tasteful goth weddings in my day.

  48. [...] out the Scotch Guard - it’s time to shine up those Docs and exchange some vows! Like cherishing each other, sticking to a strict vegan diet, and telling each other when it’s time to say fuck it and [...]

  49. Cubbins says:

    I like how the guy thinks the upside down cross is a satanic symbol. It’s actually the cross of St. Peter.

  50. ems says:

    hasn’t anyone noticed that “she” has a pair of glasses on her face, but then another pair of glasses on top of her head?

  51. Maria says:

    Did anyone else notice that she is wearing a leash?

  52. [...] it rubbing against the bone? Is that a constant reminder of timeless devotion? I know of one couple who’d be into it, but personally I think I’d rather eat glass than get that thing [...]

  53. Jabraille says:

    I shouldn’t be laughing… but I am. XD

  54. nohairnets says:

    Did anyone else notice she has WINGS?

    • Ryuk says:

      YES! At first the wing on the right looked like someones head, with the edge of the right guys shoulder as the ear. But it was disproportional.

  55. Khani Singh says:

    Now THAT’S awesome! =)

  56. ... says:

    everyone is overlooking the fact that 2 people have mentioned this is a cosplay photo, not a wedding photo. the couple is just dressed up as neo-victorian vampires for a festival. obviously, because is they did the ‘goth’ thing seriously they wouldnt look so fucking cheesy and fake. people like this are why there is such a misunderstanding/misrepresentation of darker subcultures. and i didnt think anyone older than the age of 14 trying to piss off their parents still drew upside-down crosses on their foreheads…

  57. Sassy says:

    Anyone else notice the chain leading from her neck to his hand? Is it like a retractor leash? She leans in to bite the photographer *groom retracts leash* “Down girl!”

  58. Oh! says:

    I think the “guy” on the right is actually a girl

  59. Alixx says:

    that is awesome!
    i love that style!! <3

  60. Pamcakes says:

    I think they’re cute. Look how happy they are.

  61. Meg says:

    Haven’t read all the comments, but I hope I’m not repeating what somebody wrote earlier – this ist NOT a wedding picture. I happen to know this picture, and it was taken some 5 or 6 years ago on the Wave Gotik Treffen, the largest gothic festival in the world, which is celebrated (mourned?) every year in Leipzig, Germany.

    …and yes, that’s average festival attire for this one.

  62. Caboodlecraze says:

    Caboodle! I havent heard that in years! That, just that, made my day!

  63. The Gunslinger says:

    I think I’m a little disappointed this is not an actual wedding. I like it. They’re so committed. It’s impressive. And very entertaining.
