Looks like the cake is taking the cupcakes hostage.

Looks like that cake is taking the cupcakes hostage.

Submitted by: dunno source via Submit Page

If this was turned into a movie, Samuel L. Jackson would totally play the role of the cake. “Enough is enough! I have had it with these muthafuckin’ cupcakes on this muthafuckin’ banquet table! Yo, Sprinkles – I thought I told you to make like yeast and rise up outta here, bitch!“

  10. Jami says:

    @YELDDAAA

    It’s a Dalek. An evil alien/robot hybrid from the British sci-fi series, Doctor Who. Look it up on Wikipedia.

  11. Thomas says:

    DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Oh Hell’s yeah!!!!!!!!!

  12. Maid Of Dishonor says:

    @phoenix

    Although it is a different pronunciation.

  13. Tadjio says:

    I’ve never willingly gone to a wedding, and now that I am no longer a minor, I intend to never go to another one (unless there is an open bar.) But, that being said, I would go to ANY wedding that had a Dalek cake, because it is awesome.

  14. sinfonie says:

    Dude, hardcore nerddom. I assume the bride is one as well, because otherwise that wouldn’t be happening. I wonder if the groom wore a floppy hat and 20 foot long scarf?

  15. Meredith says:

    Oh, but this is an EPIC WIN!

  16. Sam says:

    best wedding cake ever!

  17. Irena says:

    @Tadjio
    what kinda weddings you been too that don’t have an open bar – if theres no free booze, I ain’t going! Weddings are best served with lots of alcohol – that included my own LOL

  18. Miles Rose says:

    These are my thaughts as the page was loading:

    I wonder if there will be any Doctor Who wedding cakes…

    When the page was loaded: 0.0 AWESOME! EXTERMINATE :D

  19. G-Man says:

    I’m not sure that the author knew what it was… Sad…travel through space and time, destroying civilizations, zapping things with lasers and unclogging things with that little tiny plunger-thing, forever staring out at the world through that one eye, consumed with hatred for eternity, and what kind of recognition do you get? Samuel L. Jackson? Snakes on a Plane? WTF?

  20. Azure says:

    Ok, TOTALLY cool! I would love to have a Dalek grooms cake at my wedding lol too funny…and yeah, I’m a geeky nerd lol

  21. Rachet says:

    Fantastic! I hope on the other table was a TARDIS.

  22. TheCannyScot says:

    @sinfonie
    If he’s old enough to remember Daleks, more likely he wore tartan trews.

  23. OK, I can’t believe people who know about this shit are actually getting married!!
    I would LOVE to see the bride and groom — or maybe it’s a groom and groom…
    Plus all you guys that know what it is really scare me!!

    • Hannah says:

      It’s not scary at all! It’s a BRILLIANT and really only slightly nerdy show (lol) and it’s huge in the UK. Lots of lovely people who aren’t socially awkward (or gay…. where did that come from?) like Doctor Who! Of course that’s not to say that the socially awkward can’t get married… they deserve happiness too! Y’all know what I mean. = D

    • Hanhula says:

      I showed a friend’s daughter (she’s 5) the cake, and she recognised it as a Dalek.
      MILLIONS of people love Doctor Who. It’s an amazing show, which is British. If you don’t like it, shut up and GTFO.

  24. Goof says:

    @Lorie Shewbridge
    Yes Sci fi fans do get married and sci fi cakes are made. Check it out. Its a good thing just accept it.

  25. Namefag says:

    DALEKS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE WEDDING!!!!
    Oh where is the Doctor when we need him most!?!?!

  26. Nilla says:

    @Rachet
    I hope so too!
    EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! Aww love this, just in time for the new Doctor too!

  27. Caan says:

    Lorie Shewbridge :
    OK, I can’t believe people who know about this shit are actually getting married!!
    I would LOVE to see the bride and groom — or maybe it’s a groom and groom…
    Plus all you guys that know what it is really scare me!!

    Awwww, somebody is sad she was made to look stupid on her own blog! Resorting to insults will only make it worse, sweetie.

  28. Agent says:

    @Lorie Shewbridge
    I don’t get how all of us who know what a Dalek is are “scary”, I mean, I can’t speak for the rest of the world but I think you’d be hard pushed to find a single person in Britain who doesn’t know what one is.

    I’d love to meet the bride and groom/groom and groom/bride and bride too, but possibly for different reasons to you, as anyone who has a Dalek cake at their wedding? Awesome in my book!

  29. elleknight says:

    @Lorie Shewbridge

    There are a lot of people offended at your ignorant comment. We appreciate you posting a Dalek cake on the site here, but don’t insult people just because you think it’s amusing. There are many of us in the fandom (male and female, gay and straight) who don’t fit the stereotype of “geek” that you seem to be referring to. Just remember that the next time you want to make a comment like this about ANYTHING. Thank you.

  30. Gennyrated says:

    LOL anyone who thinks one of the single most watched programmes in the UK is ‘nerdy’ should check their facts. For all we know this is a nostalgia/childhood memories thing!

    And wow, that is one well made cake. I’m impressed. Most Dalek cakes are a bit… homely. Love it.

  31. Rev. Gabe says:

    That cake was not only an awesome work of art, but incredibly tasty. Also, the bride are groom are a couple of amazingly wonderful people. (So says the guy who married them.)

  32. ood says:

    @Lorie Shewbridge

    That’s quite the comment. Nice judgement, there.
    I can only imagine what kind of values you’re passing along to your kids.

    Anyway, it’s a fun cake! And yes, people who like science fiction, or just fun tv in general, are allowed to get married too. I bet the couple are pretty hot too.

  33. Philippa says:

    Brilliant cake!

  34. whiskers says:

    @TheCannyScot
    Daleks came back to the show with the 9th and 10th Doctors, so perhaps not…

  35. Kevin says:

    It’s very odd finding your wedding listed here. We also had a 3ft inflatable Dalek.

  36. Disbelief says:

    @Goof
    Right you are aware millions of people watch this show and it has been going on for over forty years, right? This year it is extremely likely to get the highest viewing figures of any other show in the UK for its Christmas Special

    One of the longest running shows on the planet, the staple of a lot of people’s childhoods in the UK particularly

    It is so mainstream that other shows reference it, people imitate the characters with impersonations on tv. Generally something you do with characters the public know well and recognise.

    And you’re surprised and scared that people have heard of it?

    Really?

  37. Disbelief says:

    LOL sorry that was meant to be for:

    @Lorie Shewbridge

  38. Nicky Louise says:

    @Lorie Shewbridge
    Why do we scare you?

    Also, Doctor Who is a very popular show, especially in the UK. People here are likely to recognise a dalek even if they’re not fans of the show… Does that mean that the British scare you 0.o?

  39. Thomas says:

    daleks will come back to mess with all the doctors, they are like the old klingons and then the romulans, good for a show or two any day.

  40. vandalfan says:

    Isn’t there a Tardis cake on Cakewrecks?

  41. Jami says:

    @Lorie Shewbridge

    Honey, I’m a straight woman who decided that I will only get married if the guy who is desperate/blind enough to want me can find a Rabbi in Vegas who is a Sammy Davis Jr impersonator that can do the ceremony in Klingon. Then we shall have a 70′s disco-themed reception.

    You don’t have to be a homosexual to want a weird wedding. Course I also want to make sure he actually wants to marry me. If he isn’t up to the challenge then he’s just not serious enough.

  42. tahrey says:

    CUTTHECAKE!
    CROQUEMBOUCHATE!
    COHABITATE!
    HURLBOUQUET!
    MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE!
    LIFELONG MATE!
    CHAMPAGNATE!
    EX…TER…MIN…CAKE!

    I wonder, was it a death-ray wedding?

  43. Gennyrated says:

    @Kevin
    You = best ever, my good man.

  44. Str4y says:

    Dalek cake FTW!!!!!

  45. Rev. Gabe says:

    @Kevin
    Not to mention the hundreds of tiny dalek M&Ms scattered around the room.

  46. Maid Of Dishonor says:

    @elleknight and @Caan

    Um, I’m not sure why either of you thought @Lorie Shewbridge is the author of this blog, but she isn’t. I am! And I never said Daleks weren’t cool at all :) This cake is badass, otherwise it wouldn’t have been posted on the site!!

  47. Maid Of Dishonor says:

    @G-Man

    True, at first I wasn’t sure. It looks just like one, but somehow I didn’t notice right away. *bangs head against wall*

    Although for me, there’s nothing wrong with Snakes On a Plane jokes in any context. I’ll keep my eyes open for other Dalek cakes to help remedy my standing reputation :)

  48. HelynHighwater says:

    Aw, what better could be more fitting and awesome a cake to eat after you promise to love, honor and OBEY! OBEY! ;^)

  49. HelynHighwater says:

    Sorry about the grammar fail. I edited the sentence halfway though and forgot to exterminate the word better.

  50. Zoe says:

    This is not a war! This is pest control! :p

  51. Kevin says:

    @Lorie Shewbridge
    Bride and groom, but we had both Gay and Lesbian friends at the wedding too.

  52. Kevin says:

    @Tadjio
    Not only did we have the Dalek, the bar was open too. Maybe a bit shy on the booze, one bottle of wine, and two bottles of beer per person.

  53. Kevin says:

    @Gennyrated

    We loved the cake, the cake maker is a dear friend, it was his first big cake ever. FWIW, it made boingboing too.

  54. Miles Rose says:

    The Doctor: *Steps out of Tardis* And here, Rose, is the world of Cake.
    Rose: 0.0 *Dips finger into a nearby Dalek Cake* Vanilla flavored Daleks?
    The Doctor: Vinilla Flavored Daleks.

  55. Ouroboros says:

    @G-Man

    It is indeed a sad sad world when one cannot even recognize a Dalek wedding cake. Samuel L. Jackson? I weep for your future cake poster.

    If I can find a woman who is willing to have a Doctor Who cake at their wedding, I will ask for her hand in marriage on the spot.

  56. lafftur says:

    Jelly babies in ruffled paper cups on all the tables?

  57. Fell says:

    “All cupcakes are inferior pastries. EXTERMINATE!!”

    Awesome Doctor Who cake ^_^

  58. Cherish says:

    @Ouroboros

    I’d go for a Tardis Cake, ;)

  59. Nicole says:

    @Kevin
    That is Fantastic and Brilliant! Did Davros officiate?

  60. Jamie says:

    I would give pretty much anything to be at that wedding.

  61. Rev. Gabe says:

    @Nicole
    No, that was me.

    Interestingly, one of my acquaintances goes by “DavRoz”. And where Davros scoots around in a sort of “skirted vehicle”, DavRoz sometimes wears a kilt. Hmmm . . . suspicious, that.

  62. portugese says:

    is that a dalek from doctor who?

  63. AngelsBreath says:

    I want this cake. A friggin Dalek! How epic is this!

  64. Tree says:

    @Ouroboros
    Worm of the World, it is sad indeed that I am already married.

  65. Bonnie says:

    Exterminate Exterminate! I want a Dr. Who Cake!

  66. Nik Recob says:

    LMAO! I’ve shot weddings professionally for years [in the USA] and thought I’d seen everything.
    Well, I stand corrected–this is the FIRST Dalek Wedding Cake I’ve ever seen!
    I guess I need to get out more and shoot some weddings in the UK!

    EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

    LOL

  67. NCA says:

    @Rev. Gabe

    They make Dalek M&Ms??? I want some!

  68. Magnus Greel says:

    EXTERMICAKE! EXTERMICAKE!

  69. miruza says:

    I’m not really a doctor who fan, but I still got annoyed that whoever posted this didn’t even acknowledge it. Samuel L Jackson? Snakes on a plane?! Yes he is badass but how do you confuse Hollywood cheese with nerdy british sci-fi?

  70. Kittymouth says:

    Jamie :I would give pretty much anything to be at that wedding.

    Well, keep checking blue police phone boxes. If you find the Doctor, he can take you back so that you actually WERE at that wedding.

  71. Twystid says:

    I MUST HAVE THIS CAKE AT MY WEDDING.

    I DEMAND IT.

  72. SparcMan says:

    Yeah so… Dr Who Samuel L Jackson for Chrissake!

    That said… Awesome cake!

  73. SparcMan says:

    There was supposed to be a “not equals” on the previous post, but it didn’t show.

  74. jamesmarstersjunkie says:

    This is a very creative cake. do they make others…shaped like actual people???

  75. cygirlkat says:

    Fan-tastic! Best Dalek cake I’ve seen.

    Yes, I know a *lot* of science fiction fans who are married, and happily so.

    (Heck- I wore a pink Romana costume, complete with loooong white scarf, for my wedding rehearsal. :D 23 years this April!)

    Namefag, LOL. +1 for best comment.

  76. The Bridesmaid says:

    OMG I would love to have this as a wedding cake when I get married!

  77. medusachic says:

    OMG i love this cake. I want a Doctor Who cake so badly when I get married!

    AND THE CAPTION ON THIS PHOTO NEEDS TO BE CHANGED RIGHT NOW
    This is a travesty that there’s a Samuel L. Jackson reference in there instead of it being labeled as what it actually is – A DALEK!

  78. Donna Noble says:

    OMG I WANT THAT CAKE!

    I’m a girl and I love that cake.

    XD

  79. Crusty says:

    EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

  80. Megan says:

    This cake is awesome!

    The Dalek cake is superior to all other cakes! All who shall disagree will be EXTERMINATED!

  81. Iesha says:

    I to am a woman and I love the Dalek cake. In fact I’m the True Dr. Who fan, my husband likes Scifi so he’d so let me have a Dalek cake if we renewed our vows, soooooo Awesome.

    Plus I’d eat a baby for Dalek M&M’s.

  82. Anonymouse says:

    Dalek Cake made my day. :D

  83. [...] Dalek bride and groom cakes are even more badass (and fancy!) than this one. Here’s a comment from the other post that sums them up [...]
