Rings To Show You Care

Wedding bands can say a lot about a couple. Remember the Bloginator ring? Here are some other beauts-that-bond:

Nothing says forever like a ring modeled from a plastic zip tie

Nothing says forever like a spray painted ring modeled from a plastic zip tie.

This couple was looking for rings with stability, integrity, and quality noise rejection.

How much WoW gold those IRL rings cost?!

And finally, for the couple who gets under each other’s skin, a pleasant-looking knuckle ring. YOWWWW, that thing looks like it hurts.

Is it rubbing against the bone? Is that a constant reminder of timeless devotion? I know of one couple who’d be into it, but personally I think I’d rather eat glass than get that thing installed.

For some reason, I really like the ethernet adapter and port wedding rings.

  2. Anon says:

I like the pic of the rings on the Nintendo DS (or whatever it is), I think it’s cute….

  3. Ellie says:

The zip tie is actually kinda cool…It’s probably of significance to the bride and groom…

  4. Lynz Catastrophe says:

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?! Shoving your engagement ring through your finger, it has to be rubbing against the bone, that can’t be healthy. I didnt know such a thing was possible but once again i get surprised.
Call me oldfashion but i just prefer the standard engagement ring with diamond….ON my finger not IN it!!

  5. gina says:

If that skin ring was even attractive, I’d understand it more. however, it doesn’t even look good! wtf?

  6. Bettie says:

Ummm…more like WTP, as in What The Photoshop. Or is it just me?

  7. Katie says:

the pierced ring is clearly fake. i’ve seen people with pierced fingers and the skin doesn’t lay over the jewelry like that. also, it looks like it’s healed, and there’s no way that you could possibly heal a piercing right there, there’s too much movement in the area and your body would reject it. so, sorry, but those of you who can’t tell that it’s an obvious photoshop… you have issues

    • Carissa says:

Get off your high horse. People don’t have “issues” just because they can’t tell if something is Photoshopped or not.

  8. Mask says:

i dont usually like people who are all like “photoshop” but i really hope that one is :S
i dont get whats wierd with the DS lite one. its just 2 rings on a DS.

  9. Lorie says:

I like that zip tie ring, too… it’s kinda cool. The only way to get a real zip tie off is to cut it off, so the symbolism is nice.

However, I agree with Katie, that piercing has got to be fake, but either way, it looks gross!

  10. Kevin says:

One thing that bugs me about the ziptie rings is that the ziptie is threaded backwards.

    • Matt says:

      Yep.
I work with them all the time, and that’s the first thing I thought.
It’s either meant to be “artistic” or the silly jeweller doesn’t know how a zip tie works. (Quite possible.)

If you tie a zip tie like that, one quick tug and it all comes undone.
(Not a good omen for a wedding ring.)

      • karon says:

you know, as a jeweler, i don’t knwo why they didn’t just use actual zip ties for casting. just use a zip tie, cast a negative, make a wax mold, then cast in your precious metal. there is no reason on earth to carve one..

OTOH, the zip ties offer a unique opportunity. every year, on an anniversary, you can add a small diamone at each tooth.

  11. Lindsay says:

The one with the ring through the finger is fake. You can find it on worth1000.com. However, the fact that many thought it was real is a compliment to the creator!

  12. Shannon says:

The DS one is from: http://offbeatbride.com/2009/10/lesbian-gamer-wedding

I’m not sure what exactly is worth trashing about it, since it is a personal tribute to the couples love of gaming.

Thank you Shannon, yet another grab from Offbeat Bride with no credit.

Hi Megan! Saw your three comments this morning. As I mentioned to someone else, we get submissions via the Upload page and oftentimes they come through without a source. But as soon as someone tells us where it comes from we always try to update and credit properly.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and you’ll see OB is now credited on all three. We LOVE Offbeat Bride! :)

      • Ariel says:

kptwothree, seems like the problem is Wedinator’s policy of running unsourced photos. It strikes me as sloppy — these are people’s weddings we’re talking about, not pictures of cats.

  15. lucy says:

the zip tie ring is cast silver. i had a friend who sent me to the website of the person that makes them and they explained how they made them. they also acknowledged that it’s put together wrong, but it didn’t really work as a ring otherwise. and since it’s solid silver, it’s not going to come apart anyways.

  16. ... says:

i love the piercing ring. too bad it isnt real. as people mentioned a piercing in that area simply wouldnt last, especially with that kind of jewelry (although no, it would not be rubbing against the bone). however, i have seen pictures of people with microdermal implants, which are little implants that heal under your the skin which you can attach little jewels or whatever to, as wedding rings.

i think its a really lovely statement when you actually think about it. you can just take a ring off, but having something inside your skin shows a serious commitment. i’ve also seen tattoos on the ring finger.

The “knuckle ring” looks like it’s just covered with skin-colored something in that spot

    • turbo says:

      ya. its called “skin”.

      • Penge says:

Think about it, genius (turbo)…how could you possibly get a piercing like that into your finger? Look at the way the ring is constructed, and think about how it could be pierced to look like that. It’s not possible. Clearly Photoshopped.

Besides, someone above even cited the source.
