Some brides will wear a second “throwing” garter and keep the other one.
If you search the pic with tineye.com you can read on higher rez versions that the bridesmaids’ panties read “bridesmaid”, the maid of honor’s reads “maid of honor” and the bride’s reads “Mrs. …” something – presumably to keep the husband from getting confused
What do the panties say? I can’t see it! And I also thought those bridesmaids dresses were VERY nice! But the flower sprays look kinda stingy……
So, what do they say? Even at 300x I can’t tell, they get too blurry. Hmmmmmmm?

Why does she wear them both on the same leg then? Aren’t garters supposed to hold stockings up or something? (I never really “got” what they were for – I never bought one for prom either.)

I think it is more of a tradition thing to have them now rather than a useful thing. Thigh highs are generally made to stay up on their own now but the groom has to have something to toss just like the bride tosses the boquet

Garters are meant to keep up stockings. They still make stockings and garters to match, check out sites like Fredricks Of Hollywood. Lots of men think they’re sexy. But with pantyhose and all that they’re not really needed anymore.
As for this picture – how trashy! This is what your kids will someday see, lady. You really want your kids to think “Gee, mom’s trailer trash!”
Sadly, the bride is the least attractive of the four. Those thighs are already HUGE.
