There are SO many great quotes in the Daily Mail article from which this came. First, a little background: “Louise Fairburn, who is an award-winning sheep breeder, decided to get married in a fleece from her own flock.” Also:
- “Mrs Fairburn even carried a Bo Peep-style crook and…Guests were given chocolate sheep-shaped favours.”
- Her husband “was ‘blown away’ when she walked down the aisle. ’I took one look at her, my lip curled like a young sheep’s does and I started blubbering,’ he said.”
Aww, that’s so…sweet? Is anyone else reminded of Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask? I hope so.

hmmmm… Mint Jelly anyone?!!
Title correction………”Hi, my dress is made out of EWE.”
I think her dress is beautiful. It’s unusual, but lovely all the same. The wedding industry tries to make all of us look the same, I commend that bride for breaking with tradition.
Yeah I thought it was kinda neat… kinda weird to see the sheep in the picture instead of the groom, but the dress is neat. lol
I agree. It’s a shame that anyone who doesn’t go for the basic bridal gown, whether in good or bad taste, are seen negatively.
People want fairytale weddings–why not little bo peep? And anyway, she obviously has pride in her work, so why not glorify that? The theme is also original and not ridiculously cliche.
Also so-called “related” posts are totally irrelevant. Wedinator fail on this one. BAD taste is funny. originality is refreshing and deserves respect.
I agree! You all are VERY narrow minded here!
Awesome!
good for ewe, girl
don’t let ewer husband ram his ideas at you or pull the wool over your eyes
That looks itchy (maybe that’s just because I’m allergic to wool).
It’s probably lined with something less itchy. I’d imagine the corset part wouldn’t keep its shape so well if it weren’t.
Sheep is like ‘I can’t see shit.’
this should be titled “Hi, my wedding dress is made out of ewe.”
Little Bo Peep has lost her mind.
Someone DID look at her email. And give credit…??? Oh, well.
The sheep looks quite pleased with itself, though.
did u ever stop to think that maybe THAT is the groom
God please let there be pictures of the bridesmaids.
Did the groom have a pair of rubber boots?
What a terrible day to be a sheep

Something B-A-A-A-A-A!!!!
I think this is cool, this woman is a shepherdess that made her dress from the wool of her own flock.
Is it just me, or is the sheep wearing little, silken, pointey-toed slippers?
Lovely day, lovely photo, the whole thing seems to fit together. I would have liked to see a Border Collie helping her out, but this is fine.
Hi, I’m allergic to your wedding dress.
I bet not many brides hear that!
That dress looks hot! Really really hot. Someone get her some ice water.
It’s a Cotswold sheep (or Lincoln – hard to tell the difference) and YES that would be one hot and heavy skirt. As a shepherd and spinner, I’d rather prepare the fleece before wearing it but each to her own. The fleeces are beautiful – very lustrous. But how is it any worse than some of the tiered and ruffled creations we see?
