I love this. I want one. Hell, I’d considering hanging this picture and I don’t even know these people. It’s like taking the proverbial caricature artist at a kid’s birthday party to a whole other level. Plus, the artist made the bride look smokin’. You can’t put a price on that.

This looks more like the drawing came first and the bride and groom liked it so much that they wanted to do a real life version of it for their wedding photo.
Yes, that’s exactly what happened. That’s why all of our hair is the way that we naturally have it, but in the picture it is the way the bride had us do it for the ceremony.
Love the black guy! Looks like someone you could wrestle with! I love his caricature version! like so cool! He’s the only guy that looks like he’s having fun.
Nice LOVE IT

I think it looks great despite what jamisings says.
This reminds me of the Mad magazine parody of L.A. Law that the cast then posed like. (Did that make sense?)
I love love love this. I love how there is so many little interactions between people despite the fact it’s a group shot. Reminds me a little of Where’s Waldo. I wish I could have gotten something like this done.
I like that blackguy in the background of the cartoon
Seriously, why is the black guy’s head so much bigger than the others?
It’s a caricature.
It was done by Winston Rowntree and the URL for his comic is linked below the pic. The cartoon was drawn first, from separate pictures of all of us (I assume) and I don’t think the artist knew what the church looked like. That wasn’t really the point. We recreated the poses from the caricature at the church when we were taking formal pictures.
I’m sure the groom appreciates being drawn with a little extra hair, too.
how come only two people mentioned the black guy?
the “black guy” is actually about 6’4” and very big.. the groom is 5’9″. He IS that much bigger than the other…
What?! The walls aren’t blue! How ridiculous!
(No, seriously, in the office, we think this is awesome.)
The artist was incredibly kind to a few people. And if the drawing was done first, it was probably from separate photos or visits with people, which means the black guy, in the photo the artist was working with, was probably leaning way closer to the camera than he was able to do in the group photo… which would make his head look very large.
Very cool idea… makes me wish my wedding party had been behaving more silly!
Makes me wonder….was the cartoon inspired from the picture, or vice versa? Every time I think the cartoon was the inspiration, my mind thinks that it’s the picture that is the inspiration. But both ways are nice! Parody, anyone?

I can’t tell…who does this say it was drawn by?
drawn from separate photos… but why did he make the large girl so much smaller and the large man so much larger?
oddly, the 5th one from the left must be wearing glasses, which kind of make her look like a zombie at this small size. poor thing.
oddities and all, really cute!
Yeah this pic is pretty small, but the one in the glasses (me) doesn’t look too bad in the bigger version. I like it.
I wonder if the fat gal near the right was happy to be drawn as a thin person, or offended… It’s like, Um… You were too ugly to include as is, so we replaced you with a drawing of Angelina Jolie.
she still has the biggest boobs of all of them. I’d be pretty honored.
am i the only one that noticed that the asian girl was the only one not allowed to stand on the steps?is it just me, or is that slightly racist. now i’m sure that some of you just scrolled up to check and sure enough, she isn’t on them steps, but before ya’ll start flippin yer lids, i know that the picture was done before the photo and im sure she was just standing there becuase the cartoonist made her shorter than she actually is and your making the photo match, am i in the ballpark?
The caricature was done first and that was just how the Asian girl on the right was drawn. I don’t know the artist personally, but I don’t think it was done because of racism. Two of the bridesmaids and the brider herself are of Asian descent. Also, the maid of honor (me) is Mexican and, clearly, one of the groomsmen is African American, so we are a pretty diverse bunch. I think she was just put at the bottom by chance. If you’ll notice, she is even on the bottom step in the caricature (you cannot see her feet).
The black guy in the back is priceless.
And the one of the ladies on the right really had a lot of weight shaved off in the drawing. :\
I thought the cartoon was a lost episode of mtv’s daria

I think the thing I love most about this pic is the fact that the artist was kind enough to make the ‘bigger’ people ‘smaller’ in the drawing. =)

I think the Asian girl in the front is NOT standing on the step, because if she had been, she’d have completely obliterated the groomsman and bridesmaid behind her. Consideration by the photographer I think. Honestly some of you people are so ready to see racial discrimination even when it doesn’t exist, it takes my breath away. Never was something more accurate than the old expression “seek and ye shall find”!!!
