In fact, a gift certificate to Hussey’s make a fantastic wedding gift. Whether the couple needs a new couch, some fine China or even a new Chihuahua, their wish list will be fulfilled!

Honest-to-God, I live just down the road from this place! The sign has said that for *years*. I know someone who actually bought their wedding dress there. It’s a bit frightening on the inside, as if the outside didn’t clue you in! LOL
The sad thing is, this is a legit general store up in Augusta Maine.

I found their website – husseysgeneralstore.com – and they have some of their dresses posted online to look at. Frankly, some of them are even way prettier then you’d see on that moronic show Say Yes To The Dress. Especially “Bonny 2716″ – which has sleeves! REAL SLEEVES! Something that all the fat brides on this site need!
We go by Hussey’s all the time (and it’s pronounced Huzzy’s) on our way to my folks’ camp during the summer. It’s one of the few stores around where you can get everything you need when you’re heading to camp! Used to be the only store open for miles around!

I used to drive by Hussey’s all the time as well, always got a good chuckle from the sign (inside was always scary), but it is nice to see this posted for more folks to get a good chuckle
I love that place! They really do have an amazing amount of stuff and it’s generally very good quality. I’ve always enjoyed the sign, though. Glad it’s finally found its proper home.

That place is awesome, one of my best friends got her wedding dress there and she looked amazing on her wedding day.

I just moved to maine about 8 mounths ago and my g/f was looking at this wonderfull fail and informed me that this place is where her sister got her wedding dress from ! hahaha
I got my wedding dress at hussey’s the upstairs is actually a quaint bridal boutique with a woman who definately knows her dresses!!! It was beautiful and well priced… and came with an interesting story
