“…doctors assured them guests wouldn’t be at serious risk. But to be sure, the 26-year-olds kept a 10-foot distance from family and friends at all times, even walking around the gathering instead of down the aisle at a Highland Park synagogue.” – Damn, that would suck. This couple totally rules for getting married anyway. Mazel Tov, you two!

So instead of removing the veil prior to ceremony they remove the mask?
Off topic – LOVE her dress.
Definitely elegant!
I remember seeing this on the news here in California (not sure if it was in Cali though). The couple mentioned all the money they had spent on the everything for the wedding and how they wold lose so much if they canceled so screw the swine flu! and they did it anyways. Kudos to them!
There are those “in sickness and in health” vows!
What about the kissing aspect…
They both had swine flu. They could have removed the masks to kiss.
We did a bit of maths (or math as you Americans would have it) on the cost of cancelling a wedding – it doesn’t make fun reading for anyone worried about illness/accidents – http://www.iamstaggered.com/featured/the-cost-of-cancelling-a-wedding
This is why it totally pays to have wedding insurance – sounds like a boring topic (and it is) but it’s more or less essential: http://www.iamstaggered.com/featured/wedding-insurance-we-test-the-small-print.
They found out earlier that the priest got swine flu
imagine that – jews worrying over money. :/
Jews… Why I´m not surprised?
Honest to Gosh people, as if the only people who worried about money were the Jews!
Oh, and AJ, since it looks like they are Jewish, I rather doubt they had a priest officiating. Did you mean a rabbi?
Now I still don’t understand, who has Swine Flu? If the couple does, why would wearing these masks help keep them from having to cancel?
Jews/Money stereotype? Seriously? Anti-Semitic much?
