Sheer Awesomeness: M&M Pave Wedding Cake

Funny Wedding Pictures - M&M Pave Wedding Cake

I love the word ‘pave’ as it pertains to candy design. Yes, this cake is a little ‘Valentine’s Day-esque’ but it’s also pretty cool. I love the old-fashioned cake topper sitting on a mountain of perfectly proportioned M&Ms.

Of course, I have no idea how one cuts into this cake without shattering its candy-coating, but hey, isn’t that a metaphor for marriage anyway? Er, some marriages

It shouldn’t be that hard – just cut straight down between the lines of M&Ms.

  2. Elarain says:

Adding to the awesome- the ad for “bubble breaker” on the right side of my screen when as I’m looking at this. It just doubled the win.

  3. Iris says:

They look like Smarties, not M&M’s. If you don’t know what Smarties are, google it. They’re barely available in the US. Just the rest of the world.

    • JamJam says:

My thoughts exactly. However, my friend, I do not know of white smarties, nor white M&Ms. Maybe some kind of candy which is more rare?

      • Em The Mildly Amazing says:

Actually, I do believe Smarties come in white… But they look a bit too shiny to be Smarties to me.

        • Janet KM says:

If I were offered a piece, I would investigate closely before biting in: they look rather like thumb tacks (push pins with broad enameled heads) to me.

      • Hope says:

Actually, you can buy custom M&Ms. They have 25 different colours, including some with a pearlised finish. You can also have your own message or picture on them.

its the valentines day mix… its plain M&Ms in the specialty colors just in that time frame of white, pale pink, dark pink & red

    • sevenmarie says:

do the smarties commercials still use the song “when you eat your smarties do you eat the red ones last?”

i grew up in erie, pa, us and we would get Canadian tv over the lake and when i was little i would always watch the suntots and they would always play that commercial.

    • Itarille says:

M&M/Mars makes special M&M’s for weddings. You can get them in special colors, or with special messages on them. Smarties are concave, and these aren’t.

    • Jodi says:

?? I”ve never had a problem buying Smarties. They’re one of my favorite candies!

  4. Iris says:

The Valentine’s Smarties have white, pink, and red in the box. You get gypped of all the other colours.

My cousin had this cake at her wedding in december! It looked a lot more “homemade” though, if you catch my drift.
