Happy 4/20 Day! AKA Things To Not Do While Stoned

Funny Wedding Photos - Nothing Says Forever Like Ditto

Submitted by: BME News via Submit Page

Yep, those ARE the same woman’s hands. At first I was like, “Was this chick just really high when she got these tattoos?” But then I read her reason behind doing it:

“The “I DO” is on my left wedding ring finger, and obviously is a love gesture to my husband saying that I do take him as my husband.. even if i lose the ring, i still have a permanent display of my love…

On the ring finger of my right hand is “DITTO” (spelled this way for sentimental reasons.. it’s the way my husband spelled it in a letter to me when we first were dating) anyways.. the DITTO symbolizes the day we renewed our vows and had a “REAL” traditional wedding..”

Makes sense! Except, um, how else would I spell ‘ditto’? ‘Cause that’s how it’s normally spelled. Maybe this chick was high after all.

  1. Hope says:

So she got tattoos on her fingers, where everyone will see them every day, and there’s no way to hide them. Hope she’s not looking for employment. Plus, they are just plain black lettering with no attempt at any aesthetic component. And then she had one of them purposely misspelled. (It ended up being mis-misspelled, but it’s the thought that counts.)

The only comfort I can find in this is that the ink is so smudged on her right hand that I wonder if it’s really a tattoo at all.

    • K says:

Yeah that would be a shame if she was looking for a job. No one who has ever gotten a visible tattoo has ever been employed by anyone, anywhere. I have never in my life gone anywhere and seen someone working who had a tattoo..

I also wonder what it’s going to look like when she’s old, how she’s going to explain it to her kids, etc etc…

      • Nyan says:

“Anyone, anywhere”? Uh, what about tattoo artists? =P

      • Hope says:

Oh, I’m sorry. You’re so right. The customers at McDonald’s won’t care about her tattoos. But no employer I know of would hire her for a _decent_ job with ugly finger tattoos like that.

        • Catherine says:

I know a number of people with tattoos on their hands who have well-paying professional jobs. Depends on what you do, where you live, and who the person doing the hiring is.

          • Mary says:

            KAZAM.

That, by the way, was rude, Hope. Catherine is right.
There are lots of jobs where I have seen people with finger tattoos.
For instance, my vet. My vet is one of the top rated vets around here.
The guy at Kolache Bakery. He does well, as well.
you’re just jealous you don’t have the balls for a tattoo. :D

        • Daedalus says:

In New Orleans, plenty of people have visible tattoos and work professional jobs. Hell, more than half the IT guys i know have at least one, and i know a doctor who has two full sleeves. I also know a lawyer with a Fleur-de-Lis tat on his neck.

Did your parents tell you tattoos kept you from getting a job, or are you that old that you remember when that was still the truth?

        • Fallan says:

HA HA HA HA!! I’ll keep laughing at this.. I’ve got a *very* decent white collar job, and not only do I have over 15 tattoos (30+ hours of work) but I also dropped out of high school!!!

Good job making a broad generalization! Also, the “smear” on the tattoos is actually stencil, these tattoos are very fresh.

          • cheezwriter! says:

Hey, Fallan — Lighten up! It’s just a joke! I have a tattoo and have had corporate jobs, too. ;) Juuuuuuust joking around.

  2. They copied “Ghost” where the dead guy always said “ditto” instead of I love you.

  3. elfinugget says:

….. could someone enlighten us idiots on how to properly spell the word “ditto” then?

  4. me says:

    ditto -> pokemon
    dito -> what he said

  5. Tara says:

It looks like there’s something else on her “I Do” finger. I hope it’s a mustache tattoo.

Totally agree with the smudge. Maybe it’s new?

    • Ashley says:

I think it might actually be a slight bruise. There’s another one on her other finger that looks more dotted, more like it does when you get a little brushburn.

Or maybe it really is just ink. For her sake, I hope so…

  6. lameo says:

It’s not “4/20 Day” it’s just 4/20. 4/20 Day would be a day other than 4/20 in which you celebrate 4/20.

Also, the poor guy is doomed to explain his out-of-context tattoo for life.

  7. anonym says:

ditto like the pokémon wich copy the apearence of it’s opponent: ditto instead of I do maybe means the same thing…but i don’t think…

  8. Ann says:

    She has “man-hands”.

  9. Bunni says:

uhm….I can say that “dito” in italian means “finger”.
    Really.

  10. lololol says:

What will happen if they file for a divorce? Chop off their fingers?

  11. The text that is only partially visible reads, “look like Beth”. If you’re on the verge of marrying and you’re carrying a little luxury weight, why not read http://www.iamstaggered.com/featured/blog-fitness-getting-in-shape-together

  12. Saffy says:

I’m less amused by the tattoos than the fact that this chick has TWO wedding bands and TWO engagement rings.

    • Robocop says:

Based on her ramblings, the one is probably from when they went through the Elvis drive-thru in Vegas and the second is from when they renewed their vows all proper-like.

  13. Situationgirl says:

Does anyone else think that the “DITTO” looks a little ink smeared? Also, those rings on the right hand look huge. I really think she’s trying to fake the crappy, traditional picture of the newlyweds hands with rings on them, only he refused on the bounds of it being moronic, so she grabbed a sharpie and went to work.

  14. AnnCanCanCan says:

Tattooing near creased areas of the skin – such as most joints – can cause the ink to ‘bleed’ from it’s original location, especially when the tattoos are inexpertly done.

Or so a tattoo artist told me.

  15. Dawn says:

Umm….what about those nails?!! You would think if you were going to put this picture all over the web you would at least make sure your nails didn’t look like they were swimming in motor oil!

  16. Ninny says:

Wow. Divorce is going to be hell.

    And “traditional” =/= “real”…

  17. Kim says:

A second wedding band at the second stating of the vows – I can follow that, er… let’s call it, “logic.” But a second engagement ring? Huh? Also, can you get tattoos that bad professionally done? I thought you had to be incarcerated to get ink of that quality.

  18. Meesh says:

    ugliest. hands. ever!

  19. Cici says:

    “ditto” is the correct spelling…

  20. Anni says:

It´s “dito”, from the italian “detto” (past participle of “dire = to speak”). I have no idea where the extra “t” comes from though in the “english version”

  21. Valentina says:

I’m more concerned over the fact that the bride and groom are probably brother and sister (or at the very least, first cousins) and are going to breed multiple times.

  22. Nopi says:

DITTO looks like “Dit to” in Vietnamese, which means BIG ASS.

  23. Maggy says:

Hmm.. its from latin. ‘Idem dito’.
Why in english it became ‘ditto’ is unclear to me.

anyhow, apparently ‘dito’ and ‘ditto’ are now both correct…?

  24. momo says:

Well, you might want to spell it “dito”? You know, the correct way?
    Just a tip.

  25. mofo says:

In my language we say and spell it “detto”.

    She looks fat

  28. molly says:

does anyone else notice why both hands look female…like a lesbian wedding, i think it just might be ink pen tho. cuz the ring only goes on the left ring finger, not on both…..im confused ):

  29. dd says:

Any one else think that her “ditto” is meant for when she is holding her husband “I do” tatted hand.

    I noticed it too.

  34. ZOMG you busted me. It just so happens that the site I edit has a lot of crossover with Wedinator. I’d never just spam a post with an irrelevant link and 30% plus of my comments are funny. I think that justifies my actions. If that angers you probably the best thing to do would be to create your own site, fill it full of good content, make it popular, wait until I comment and then mod the crap out of me. Until then sit back, STFU and wait until I hit a funny comment again. Peace.

  35. Rich says:

You just posted a completely irrelevant link. The worthless post on your site has absolutely nothing to do with this picture, and I have yet to see anything funny from you. Cut it out.

  36. Ok, to ease this minor spatette towards a timely resolution (because really who wants to spend minutes of their one and only life arguing on an internet comments thread?) I think elements of what you say are right and I conditionally apologise.

I say conditionally because we can agree to disagree about the funny thing (http://wedinator.com/2009/12/05/caption-conteset-results/ – they don’t give 2nd prize to just any chump y’know *buffs medal*) but I agree that the link I posted for this story isn’t 100% relevant, although I’d say that it’s not worthless or entirely irrelevant either.

The thinking behind that runs that Wedinator self-selects people who have some interest in weddings, some of those people will be brides and grooms, some of those people will be on the portly side, as indeed the digital star of the post is, maybe they’ll want to get in shape – ergo – post some advice about couples getting fit for their wedding. I agree it’s a stretch though, what I should have posted it to is this one – http://www.iamstaggered.com/featured/five-alternatives-to-weddings, which specifically deals with getting a tattoo to honour your commitment to marriage, or just have rested on my laurels knowing I’d made a funnyish Beth Ditto gag.

So how about I promise that for future comments I’ll either not post a link at all, or post a link to any relevant site where the content of that site seems to justify it and it would potentially enhance the thread for Wedinator readers?

I sincerely hope you have a nice day and thanks for letting me know your thoughts.

  37. Pinky says:

You had me at “I’ll… not post a link at all”.
