Slightly virginal and highly reminiscent of Shakespeare’s play about an insane woman who dies in a brook after falling from a willow tree. Romantic! But where is her groom for the underwater love portion of the photo shoot? And why does the water look like the artificial ponds at putt-putt golf courses…?

Copy & paste this:

It does look romantic! I just hope it was the last part of photoshoot…..
It’s probably a “Trash the Dress” shoot. They don’t literally destroy the dress, but water shots are pretty common. They’re done after the honeymoon as a way to get more pretty pics.
After the wedding.
Heck with that! I spent too much for my wedding gown to ruin it in a algae-infested looking pond.
pfft. I burned mine. (of course…I was divorced….)
Shouldn’t you be able to see her hand in the reflection in the water???
No – her hand is IN the water. The water line is at about wrist level.
No. Her hand is underwater.
It looks like she is rising out of some primordial goo. I understand being artistic about wedding pictures, but this is weird.
Her bouquet is made of wheat.
Thought Ophelia’s bouquet had rosemary in it also? Props to the captioner for referencing Hamlet!
Yeah, I gotta say, _Hamlet_ was not exactly “about” Ophelia .. But props for the shout-out. (This photo might have come out looking better if they’d followed Shakespeare’s example and chosen water that was moving rather than stagnant. Looks like the cooling pond outside Three Mile Island to me.)
It’s a great shot. She looks very comfortable in there, where most people would just look like they got stuck in a pond.
… I think it’s kind of pretty…
Could be a reference to the Lady of Shallot and those famous paintings done by Waterhouse
That was my first thought
I actually think this is pretty… better than most bride photos.
I don’t think this is that bad. The photographer in my town does this all the time, especially for graduation formals. Like someone above me said, it’s pretty common. I’ve never seen it for a wedding photo though.
i think that it’s a really pretty picture
pretty picture. Nice Hamlet reference except for the fact that Ophelia didn’t fall out of a willow tree. she waded into the water to kill herself.
You didn’t actually READ the play, did you? Because Ophelia’s death is offstage, and the account given of it by Gertrude IS that she fell from a willow tree.
Now, whether Gertrude is telling the truth or not is another matter, but nowhere in the entire play does it say that she “waded into the water to kill herself.”
I think this is a pretty picture, but the green water is kind of ugly.
That was a beautiful dress. Wish I had this idea on my wedding day…could have just walked into the ocean afterwards…not too pull an “Ophelia”, but to get a great shot.
If you were going to wade into the water, that would be more like when Great Ajax tried to kill himself in the Odyssey. So, in a way, you’re still copying someone.
dude…. hamlet is not “about” ophelia :\
Its a ‘Trash the Dress’ photo shoot. I’ve seen a lot of nice trash the dress sessons, this one was probably no different. Its a nice shot.
did she run out of places to take fotos in?
I know this girl! I work with her. It was a pre-wedding photoshoot, and the dress was given to her by the photographers specifically for the shoot. Her real dress was AMAZING
I think it’s a lovely shot, and that water looks pretty. I like a green lake..but I’m from the NW so I like most things green.
I must be different. I think it’s cool. (no pun intended)
As a Wedding Photographer myself, this is a very common kind of shoot to do! I think it’s quite beautiful.
It’s Lovely of course, but really, you can’t base a system of government on the premise of some waterlogged bint chucking swords around willy nilly, can you ?
But you are all Britons. And I am your king.
I didn’t vote for you…
Epic Monty Python reference FTW
