Did you know today is Star Wars Day? It’s true. And awesome. Let’s celebrate by staring at Star Wars-themed cakes that other people got to eat, starting with AT-AT deliciousness at its finest:

This cake is super sweet on multiple levels. The only thing that would make it better is if it was an ice cream cake. (Is the white slab supposed to be ice?) But overall it looks good and appears easy to cut…unlike this R2D2 cake:

Aww. It’s a celebration, not a sacrifice! Do they HAVE to eat him? He’s just so cute. Plus, how does one request a slice of R2D2? “I’d like a piece of his hologram projector, please!” It just seems cruel. And yet, oh-so-tasty. Mmmm…droids.

Copy & paste this:

Don’t you mean you wish it was an Ice (Planet Hoth) Cream Cake?
When I first saw R2D2 there, I thought he had a tassel hanging down the front, but it is an oddly placed cake topper.
While the AT-AT is pretty nice, R2 is ruined for me after watching the Ace of Cakes team make a full sized (with motion) one for Skywalker Ranch…
And did you see the one of Han Solo in Carbonite that they did? It rocked.
While I love the AT-AT cake, I really want to noms on the little Wickett the Ewok cupcakes besides it. And I would love a closer view of the cake toppers (?) to the right of it.
Are those Ewok cupcakes? Best idea ever.
May the 4th be with you!
Is the groom in the R2D2 picture wearing a Babylon 5 uniform? I know the guy with the camera is wearing a lightsaber….
No, B5 uniform were militarist in style. Sleeves were slim-fitted at the wrist. His are wide; maybe something from SW 1-3 (menace-sith?).
whoops, *militaristic* ^^
You ripped this entire thing off of cakewrecks.com…. you can’t even use your own commentary? loserfish.
Umm… actually, it’s not. Maybe you got confused?
Whoops! J/k
This post isn’t ripped off but the gorgeous AT-AT cake has been featured before on a Cakewrecks epsiode of Sunday Sweets:
http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/2009/06/sunday-sweets-star-wars.html
Also, the Cakewrecks post has a MUCH better R2-D2 cake than shown here. The R2-D2 here looks lumpy, wobbly, overweight and ill-proportioned!
These aren’t the cakes you’re looking for.
I went to a wedding once with an R2D2 watermelon that held a fruit salad.
That is freaking awesome. Any pics?
Yeah… the AT-AT cake topper looks like Leia and ADM Akbar (“It’s a trap!” – how appropriate) to me.
I think that’s Mon Mothma, not Leia.

Very well rendered AT-AT cake + Ewok cupcakes= win twice over. Cute!!
Beware… the attack of the Sixth.
May the forks be with you!
May the 4th be with you… and beware the revenge of the 5th!
I think they’ve already had enough cake…
WANT @ at_at cake.
he should tooooooooooooootally be holding a lightsaber’ish knife!
