What an impressive optical illusion! I like how the photographer cut the bride’s head off to make this photo happen. It nicely adds to the overall WTFness of the image.
I don’t understand the appeal of these shots. I never have, and I never will. Who wants to pretend to give birth on their wedding day when they could be doing a keg stand? Think about it.

i don’t think the point of this shot was to make it seem like she was giving birth. it looks like its supposed to show her head is coming out of the gown, hence her actual head cut off in the picture.
Either the head was cut off on purpose to make it look funny or my gran took the picture.
I don’t get it, either. It looks like someone chopped off her head and dropped it – still smiling – on the floor next to her body. All we’re missing here is some fake blood… Why would anyone want a decapitated photo of themselves???

This is most likely a photo from the dressing room, and the girl coming out of the dress is probably a sister/bridesmaid who was helping fix whatever ridiculous things the bride needed fixing before the ceremony. “Help I can’t bend down now that I’m in this dress but my pantyhose is all twisted FIX IT NOW” etc. I think the photographer cut off the bride’s head just to make it more funny.
“fixing things”… That sounded a little bit dirty. It would explain the mischievous smile on the “bridesmaid’s” face.

As the photographer I can assure you it was just her sister’s head popping out after a last minute adjustment under the dress. No Freddie Kruger action here. I cropped off the bride’s head because it made it funny (enough to win 1st place in an international contest). Great photographs make you think, contemplate and react. Looks like I did my job.
