Funny Wedding Photos - TOUCHDOWN!!!

Submitted by: dunno source via Submit Page

“I Steelers fan, take you Steelers fan, to be my lifelong partner.
To share the good times and hard times from Pre-Season to the Super Bowl.
I humbly give you the season passes within my heart,
as a sanctuary of warmth, peace, beer and guacamole,
and pledge my faith and love to you (and the Steelers).
Just as our love of football is without end, my love for you is eternal.
Just as the game is made of incorruptible substance,
my commitment to you will never fail.
With this ring, and in these kick-ass jerseys, I thee wed.”

  1. Raccoon Princess says:

Hmmm, Palomalu marrying, um, another Palomalu. Awkward if they are out of the honeymoon season for injuries.

    • Ember says:

OK, rabid Steelers fans so the jerseys were probably chosen for the Palomalu connection. Still… I’m thinkin’ maybe they’re rabid Sci-Fi fans, too, in which case, the “42″ also conveniently – and oh so romantically – stands for “Life, the Universe, & Everything.” Let’s all say it together – *Awww*!!!

    • Zeus says:

sooo actually its not polamalu becuase they are wearing 42 not 43… get it right next time :)

  2. DaysieD says:

Notice the groom is wearing white and the bride is wearing black…LOL

    • D says:

Yeah, left me behind a bit puzzled (and smiling) to. On a sidenote, I didn’t know Pittsburgh was Redneck-territory…

      • CobraKai says:

Haha, Pittsburgh is MOST definitely redneck country. It is less than an hour from West Virginia. Listen to a south side yinzer talk and you will realize ery quickly how much of a redneck town Pittsburgh is. (I love Pittsburgh)

  3. Rick Dallas says:

A few years ago, a couple friends of ours got married. They were rabid hockey fans. She was from Dallas, and he was from Pittsburgh.

Their ceremony was at center ice. She wore a Dallas Stars jersey; he wore a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey; the preacher wore a ref’s uniform. The bridesmaids wore Stars jerseys; the groomsmen wore Penguin jerseys. Bridesmaids carried hockey sticks instead of flowers. The preacher used hockey vernacular for the vows.

    • Ren says:

      Wow, that’s actually pretty awesome!

I was thinking maybe this was their rehearsal; when my cousin got married, everyone at the rehearsal wore Steelers jerseys, and my mom even made a Steelers pillow for the ring bearer. They dressed traditionally for the wedding, though I think the bride may have worn a Steelers garter…

      • D says:

This makes me actually really wonder what the point of the rehearsal is and why many people get dressed up fancy and everything. I mean it’s just a wedding not a space shuttle start or something like that…

        • Ren says:

For most people, it’s not “just a wedding,” it’s one of the biggest days of their lives. They want to make sure everything runs smoothly – all the bridesmaids know their order, the music is right, maybe even practice the vows if you wrote your own.

  5. Bonnie says:

Isn’t the bride supposed to wear the away jersey?

  6. teahater says:

Polamalu is #43. They are not wearing any current players.

  7. Brett says:

They were both raped by Ben Roethlisberger at the reception.

  8. Liz says:

The amount of sadness in this picture is infinite!
Oh, wait!… they are both wearing the number 42!
I guess that is the outfits are the result of the infinite improbability drive, then. Better.

  9. rayray says:

This girl we know married a rabid Steelers fan. She makes big $, he’s ne’er-do-well. She took him to the Superbowl in Detroit a few years ago. Before they were married she knew jack about football.

  10. Marion says:

Pittsburgh is the only place I’ve ever lived where a football jersey worn to a wedding OR a funeral doesn’t even get a second glance.

  11. Lauren says:

marion- absolutely. i see jerseys in all the best of places.

  12. Pinksalmun says:

    Congratulations, Dave and Amber!

    • boaks says:

  13. Chris says:

It could be a practice weding. Once at a practice wedding, I saw a “dead end” sign at the alter, as a joke.

  14. SeriousHilarity says:

the commentary made it even better.

  24. koba-tv says:

Just imagine the amount of money they saved by not buying a wedding dress or renting tuxes! If my Mom hadn’t been Mother-of-the-Bridezilla, I probably would have done the same thing.

    GO STEELERS!

  25. Megan says:

I’m from Pittsburgh and let me tell you, this is not strange. We wear Steelers/Penguins/Pirates gear to pretty much everything, from church on Sunday, to weddings, to funerals, to work, etc. On Fridays, even business formal dress codes usually wear a Steelers shirt under their suits. On any Pens game day, most workplaces allow you to wear your game jersey. Best place to live ever!

  26. Amber says:

Thanks for your comments! I am the bride, but i have no clue who put this up. :) 42 does not stand for a player, it stand for the day we were married April 2nd! Yes this was our wedding day not the reherasal!!!

  27. DLantz says:

I would so do this…GO STEELERS!!! Amber – you are awesome!

  28. Optiker says:
