She Was Hoping for a Bigger Cake

Funny Wedding Photos - I Was Hoping for a Bigger Cake

His interest in using his ceremonial Marines’ sword to cut the cake perfectly matched her interest in commissioning the tallest and most expensive cake imaginable. Apparently Amanda Peet here is a bridezilla of mammoth proportions. How do you even request a slice off that thing? “I’d like a corner piece on the Northeast side of the 5th tier!”

  2. Victoria says:

The picture is of King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan. Not Amanda Peet.

  3. hmph says:

save a piece for the sniper in the background…

  4. paul says:

That’s not a Marine. Wrong uniform, it’s more likely a British soldier or another European Soldier

  5. Rina says:

This is not Amanda Peet, but ruther the King and Queen of Jordania at their wedding. They surely had to serve some more people at that event than any other of us.

  6. Fanboy Wife says:

This is how all cake should be!

  7. Mattress says:

Is that one of Saddam Hussein’s Republican Guards?

  8. Millk says:

This is Jordan’s King Abdullah and Queen Raina (well, they were prince and princess then) Real princesses don’t wear strapless dresses.

    • alichronic says:

regardless…that is the ugliest friggen dress i have ever seen. they should wear strapless dresses, apparently

      • Sangelia says:

why IYHO cant the bride dress modestly if she wishes to?
some brides prefer to be covered modestly. letting only her man see her in her full naked glory.
and to some brides. being in a sleeveless gown is tantamount to being nude.
same with some coulples. they are virgin in kissing till that wedding kiss after they have been pronounced man and wife.
plus some of us like that dress.
plus nobility are expected to set higher standards of modesty than a commoner bride.
next step to sleeveless dresses might just be topless in the future. would you want your daughter to show off her assests?
sleeveless dresses for weddings were hotly debated on if they were modest enough for a bride to wear.

I consider myself rather fashion-conscious and I think that’s a gorgeous dress. Very classic styling.

  9. That’s the King and Queen of Jordan…

  10. WarDragon says:

    The cake is a lie!

  11. Long before dawn says:

I wonderful if it was still delightful when the top two layers fell over on them.

  12. hehe says:

    @ WarDragon

hehe the cake is a lie…what would be awesome is if this cake was black forest cake…

  13. Sangelia says:

would hate to see the amount of left over cake. and the logistics of trying to store that amount
    love the corner decorations though

  14. Luka says:

You’re gonna need a bigger sword (and plate)

  15. Umm... says:

As it’s been said, this cake is for the wedding of the King and Queen of Jordan… I’m sure they had even more cake in reserve to feed all the guests – somehow I don’t think a small walmart cake would’ve done it

  16. deyster says:

This is as mentioned above is King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Of Jordan wedding.
There were so many people invited to the wedding and I’m pretty sure there was no leftover cake.

The King (Prince at that time) is wearing the Special Forces Supreme Commander uniform, as that was his rank then. The guard in the background is not really army, but more of royal guard.

  17. Jess says:

Its king Abdullah the second and wife Rania of Jordan.

Not a marine, that was a fail.

And not saddam that was a bigger fail.

And you can tell by, 1. thats Queen Rania, 2. thats the king
    3. thats the Jordanian symbol on the cake.

    learn your failures people.

  18. Leo says:

Major FAIL for wedinator…Amanda Peet? Marines?

  19. Samantha says:

Does anybody else think the groom looks like a girl?

  20. ladyofargonne says:

Looks like she married a door man.

  21. Ryan says:

    Not a Marine

  22. Voodoo says:

Hey, did you know that’s the King and Queen of Jordan at their wedding? Nobody else has pointed that out!!!

  23. Someguy says:

Queen Rania is impossibly hot. And she is Muslim, although a pretty modern one, so she’s not going to wear a strapless dress.

  24. Hassan says:

This is the King and Queen rania of jordan.
    thats the traditional Outfit.
the dress it should be wore because its it ran in the royal family since ages .
and the king should wear that outfit .
and just wake up form you ignorance this has nothing to do with being a muslim or whatever. you guys are bunch of FAILS !!!!!!!!! FAILLLLLS

aww. Queen Rania looks so pretty! I was reading the site and then I was like, wait a minute, I know those two! How sweet do they look together??

  27. Former Marine says:

Idiot! That’s not a Marine Corps dress sword. What kind of a moron are you? Do you always say the first thing that comes into your head without stopping off at the old thinker first?

  28. marine_troxel says:

THAT’S NOT A MARINE!!!! trust me, i’m married to one

  30. janie dowe says:

Jordania!!!! OMG I can’t stop laughing…King and Queen of JORDANIA!!!!

  31. qussa says:

Having been to more than one wedding in the Middle East, I’d say this is not a real cake (royal wedding or not). Even at the most expensive weddings they pass a sword along the side of something that looks like a wedding cake, then move that thing to the corner of the room and bring in plate after plate of real cakes…

  32. urdon says:

this is king and queen of Jordan (jordania en spanish) the cake is real. we jordanians saw it on tv as we watched the reception and wedding of then prince abdalla and princess rania and late king hussein was there with over 400 guests there.

  34. MAF97 says:

Apparently more than a few people missed the fact that this picture — and the text — were on a PARODY site. So quit getting your panties and drawers knotted over “it’s the king and queen of Jordan” and “it’s not a marine uniform.”

It’s nice that you are married to a marine. Now help yourself to a big steamy cup of STFU.

  35. Sanguinari says:

I LOLed when i saw this picture then laughed some more when my sister walked in. I was at this wedding and when i read that it was Amanda Peet it had me confused for a good 5 minutes XD
yes. it is King Abdullah and Queen Rania of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and yes they were only a Prince and Princess during that time. He wasn’t even crown prince until 6 hours before his father died and named him successor instead of the king’s brother prince Hassan. I don’t really like wedding dresses that are too modest since they are boring as hell but this one is actually quite nice and different. And yes the wedding was HUGE so yeah, they needed a titanic cake of gargantuan proportions. It is also a custom to cut the cake with a sword in many countries in the Middle East.

  36. hjgjgk says:

    its very small……..
if i compared to my birthday cake it will really look like ant……..
    but its fair…not that good
