Funny Wedding Photos - Best Invite Ever

Submitted by: Blue Orchid Designs via Submit Page

This is the JK Wedding Dance of wedding invitations. It’s too long to tack onto the fridge as a reminder, but who needs reminding after getting this invitation in the mail? This thing should be optioned for a movie or turned into a song by Taylor Swift or something.

  1. PJ says:

Why does poor Matt get a so much smaller font size than Jill? I mean I know the wedding is “her day” but still!

  2. rab3 says:

Do they go through all this to have sex too? And it’s to small to read. Annoying not Awesome. It was like the flow chart my bother in-law had for his wedding to my sister.

    • Truth says:

      You are deluded, my pupil.

This invitation is constructed of pure awesomeness.

      • c4y2d says:

No, you are deluded. This is lame. You don’t want to hear my husband’s opinion of it.

      • ad-hoc says:

i thought it was pretty good but about 50% too long. we don’t need to know about every single place they moved to and the transportation method involved. sum that shiz up.
        doting parents lawl….

        • planet says:

Well they didn’t make it to inform random strangers about their lives. It was sent out to friends and family and I bet they do care about all that.

        • samuel says:

were you invited to their wedding? do you know them? Of course “we” don’t need to know all the details but, If I got this from a friend it would be awesome. love the graphic styling to it.

    • alina says:

      It’s quite clear. and awesome.
      you need glasses B)

  3. Memo says:

You should publish a hi res picture of the invitation, it seems interesting but I can’t read half of it!

  4. jinx says:

i’m with rab. too small of print to read how it’s supposed to be funny.

  5. Mindy says:

I concur, rab3. I got bored in the middle and then my magnifying glass broke, so I quit reading.

  6. Blarp says:

I don’t understand. Are we supposed to be able to make out what it says?

    Not-including-larger-pic-fail tbh.

  7. kptwothree says:

SRY GUYS! NOW IN FULL SIZE!

  8. greenduckiesgirl says:

I love it. This is totally cute.

  9. Fanboy Wife says:

Usually, too many fonts annoy me, but the designer knew what s/he was doing and this has a great aesthetic to it! I like it!

  10. DrPluton says:

I thought it was sweet how they overcame the odds (and distance) to stay together when any other two people would have separated.

    • Simplified Life says:

My wife and I did very similar (long distance, high school sweethearts, multiple different colleges). Fortunately for our friends and families, we didn’t torment anyone with such an obnoxious invitation.

      • Evil Homer says:

Ugghh thank goodness someone agrees with me that this is neither cute nor anything to brag about.

Why was Jill such a b*tch about moving to NYC? She was happy to move to Maine but not NY? Ok….

And love the dig she has at Matt for “nearly blowing it” when she asked him out…gee I wonder whose idea this lame and “TMI” invitation was?

        • sberria says:

why was matt such an @ss for not willing to give up the notion of NYC and move to her?

but other wards, yes i agree, way TMI.

          • Nnu says:

I really like this invitation, but I don’t understand Matt, either. Why was he so stubborn? Oh well. This invitation makes me happy.

  11. blue says:

    this is absolutely adorable!

  12. Shaid says:

That is really cute! Reminds me of my early relationship with my husband… The difference is that we *met* while living in two different time zones; I lived in Ohio (then Virginia, the Ohio again) and he’s Colorado born and raised. We lived apart for four years before I finally moved out to Denver. We’ve now been together 10 years and married for 5 of those.

I love cute stories like those!

    • Mindy says:

Yes, I love cute stories…just not in the form of a wedding invitation. Also, consider that most of their friends/family went through this soap opera of back-and-forth visiting/moving fiasco and know the lowdown already–and are sick of hearing about it.

  13. Aylsa says:

I’m on theknot, and one of the girls who was getting married the same month as me posted her invitation that was similar to that. It’s pretty awesome =)

  14. picgirl7 says:

it’s always great to see someone who did long distance made it. I’ve been there and its tough. Super cute wedding invite idea

  15. spoon! says:

    I love this, great idea!

  16. Nyan says:

Wonderful typography, very unique! This is awesome.

  17. Micha says:

Absolutely grand! I want one of my own. And I agree, the design/aesthetics of it are utterly fabulous.
Plus, long distance romance melts my heart. Perhaps because I currently have over four thousand miles between me and my love.

Meanwhile, first ten commenters or so should consider the zoom-in option of their browsers, and perhaps corrective lenses. Is it really that small??

  19. Steve says:

So, what was this “odd place to work” ?
    Denny’s?
    Jiffy Lube?
    The whorehouse on seventh avenue?

  20. Trotsky says:

    Real life Jim and Pam.

  21. revolution724 says:

How bad are your vision and your attention span if a.) you can’t read that, and b.) you get bored trying? Wow.

Very funny and charming, I wish them the best.

  22. Lala says:

For all those who said it’s too small to read… I would try using my eyes. Then the font will be pretty clear and easy to read. I mean what do you want? Size 72 font?

For those of you who said it was stupid, boring, or annoying… well that’s your opinion, but then why bother to waste more time and actually write a comment? You must have nothign better to do and therefore I can only concur that you are stupid boring or annoying and only deflecting your own failures onto these people’s invitation.

At worst, it’s uninteresting and you move on.

At best it’s quite romantic and lovely.

I won’t say it brought tears to my eyes, but I will admit it gave me a quick chuckle. Cute invitation. Silly couple. They’ll probably be in for the long haul. Good for them and good luck.

    • Evil Homer says:

Sooo…it’s only worth commenting on as long as we agree it’s cute…? Wow, you are a pain in the a*se aren’t you Lala!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Evil Homer says:

And if you were remotely intelligent you would realise that when it was originally posted it was MUCH smaller and hence difficult to read.

You really are an idiot aren’t you?

      • adrina says:

        Evil Homer,
Perhaps you are the idiot, considering you cannot spell “realize”. It’s with a “Z”, dumb ass.

        • Zeli says:

          Adrina… um.. pot/kettle.

The rest of the world (ie, the ones who can spell) spell it realise. With an “S”, dumb -er- donkey.

          • RiotRix says:

You’re both asses. Both are correct, depending on what country you’re from. It’s like ‘color’ and ‘colour’.

        • browncow says:

it’s with a Z in the US of A… In most other places, it’s an S. And believe it or not, not only Americans visit this site.

    • adison says:

For those who keep saying to “use your eyes” because the font is huge–you’re idiots and need to read the rest of the thread. It has been upgraded to a higher resolution and was previously too small to read.

Further, it’s a snark site and Lala is telling us to keep negative comments to ourselves? Oh…okay.

Aside from that, why is the bride’s name so much bigger than the groom’s? This was obviously her stupid idea.

  23. FuddyDuddy says:

Thank you for upgrading it to a higher resolution.

  24. hmph says:

    “long story short”? Too late.

Gonna go ahead and be a dork…
    ZOMFG YAY DELAWARE!
These people could have gotten married anywhere from Maine to Virginia and they chose a truly awesome place in DCCA!
    End hometown dorkitude rant.

  27. sberria says:

…and why did Jill have to move to new york? what was stopping matt from moving to wherever she was?

  28. rain293 says:

This is not the JK wedding dance wedding invitation. It clearly said it’s matthew jesse. Get your fact straight and stop making things up

    • adelais says:

The poster wasn’t saying it was the wedding invitation FROM the JK wedding dance, he/she was equating it to the jk wedding dance.

“This is the JK wedding dance OF wedding invitations.”

  29. beth says:

Kelzy, I’ll add some dorkitude, I’m with ya!!! YAY DELAWARE!!! I think this is totally cute and awesome. *Gotta love hometown spirit*

  30. Lefty777 says:

    302!

  31. billpullam says:

I liked it so much I’ve read it 4 times when I visit wedinator. I don’t get tired of it.

  32. Jeff says:

    That is FREAKING AWESOME!!!

  33. kimk says:

Just reading this, I realized that they didn’t know that NYC-Maine is NOT further than NYC-Virginia. OK, maybe if she went into the real boonies of Maine, but if it’s for a residency, I doubt that. Geez, get a map, folks.

    • Mamaursula says:

Actually, it obviously depends on where in Virginia and Maine she lived in, I’m going to give the groom the actual benefit of the doubt and say he *knows* which place was further from him rather than you…just a guess and all.

  34. peony says:

Great invitation!! If the rest of the wedding lives up to this it’ll be amazing.

  35. pix says:

Can you imagine the postage for an invite this mammoth?

  36. derp says:

My friends appropriated this idea for their own invitation, although their version was somewhat less verbose and text-squishy.

This style of invitation (which many have called “TMI”) is more effective when you know and care about the people getting married, btw. Definitely TMI when they are strangers.

  37. Danielle says:

    That’s beautiful.

  38. REK says:

Hey, I had my wedding reception at the DCCA too! My invite wasn’t quite so verbose, nor awesome… :|

  39. RiotRix says:

Boring. Self important. Lame. If I got this in the mail I’d wipe my ass with it. If it were an interesting story, it would be awesome. But really? 10 fucking feet of, “We met at work and were long-distance for several years”? Fuck these guys.

  44. GabachoMike says:

    Great story.
Could have used this format to describe my first marriage (she in Portland, Or., me in L.A.).
Hope it works out for them.

  45. AJ says:

Ummmm, I think it rocks, very fun.

To those who don’t like it, I understand. It was never written with the intention of being read by thousands of strangers. I’m sure the invitation gets funnier and funnier to those who know, love and actually RECEIVED it from said couple.

  46. funkyARTIST says:

This is an excellent piece of design, very imaginative. To those people slagging it off, I think it’s one of those occasions where someone beat you to a great idea and you’re just very envious ;-)
    Perfect, well done!

  47. Pski says:

    Magnificent !
For those who enjoy this : You can go and check about a comic books author / graphic designer called Chris Ware. His books are sick and this document makes me think a lot about his works. For those who don’t enjoy this…………

  51. Blue says:

Actually, I love this invitation. As a graphic designer, I think it’s a fun idea and well executed. Clearly, it’s not meant to be a traditional wedding invite – it’s supposed to be fun! It made me laugh/smile, so I say it was a success :)
