“The bride and groom met at a Star Trek convention – she, a budding crew member with a heart of gold, and he, an IT specialist with a thing for hideous white jackets and ladies who know how to role play on a Saturday night. Together they will take the voyage of a lifetime. Wedding officiated by Captain Picard. Reception to follow at Houlihan’s .”

What, a RED wedding dress? She’s doomed in the first act.
That there is an amazing costume (coming from a theater nerd.) Kudos to the guy who managed to wear it throughout the whole wedding.
The Borg isn’t a actual wedding guest per-say. That is from the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton in Vegas. My friends got married there a few years ago before they closed it down, you could choose from a number of characters for the wedding. They had a hot female Klingon at theirs.
If I was her I would make sure that the Honeymoon wasn’t on the Holodeck! (The “Best Borg” seems to be aiming to cop a feel…. in 3 of 3…2 of 3… resistance is futile….1 of 3…)
I’m sure there is a metaphor for wearing the red shirt in a wedding party.
Actually, the jacket is the dress uniform from the Star Trek: The Next Generation films, but he does seem to be wearing it over a plain old button up shirt rather than the “correct” way. The bride and officiant are wearing standard uniforms from the original Star Trek and the maid of honor (next to the Borg) is wearing the Star Trek: The Next Generation uniform.
Yes, I am a total nerd, but what do you expect when you spend your entire senior year of college working on a thesis related to the Star Trek franchise?
the real question is- why are they mixing TNG w/ TOS?
doesn’t the crew member in red always die first when they beam down to the planet?
Yes, but only guys. No way Captain Kirk would let a chick this cute get killed , even dressed in red.
Only on away missions. Women in red were fair game if the entity got aboard the Enterprise!
Not so. There was a chick red shirt that died on an away mission, although they copped out and didn’t show her actual body, they turned her into a vacuum-ified multigon first and then crushed the object. I don’t remember the name of the episode (I know, I bring shame to my fellow nerds), but it’s the one where the aliens assume human form and hijack the ship to get back to their own galaxy, and they end up vacuum-fying nearly the whole crew…and then Scotty’s gets drunk with the one alien and holds up an unknown liquor and says “it is green.” Y’all know which one I’m talking about, right?
By Any Other Name. That surprised me. It was between the black guy and the pretty chick redshirts, and the pretty chick bites it.
Kirk lets A LOT of pretty/ cute girls get killed. A LOT.
This…this is pure win.
I recall reading about a wedding like this in one of my favorite murder mysteries… Bimbos of the Death Sun, anyone?

The borg is totally going for an azz grab..and I think she likes it.
That’s the picture from the website. This is a staged picture illustrating the wedding service that was offered at the Star Trek Experience. My husband and I were thinking about eloping and getting married there.
You know deep down in the back of her head shes thinking “I TOTALLY should have let him have anal and do my dream wedding…” Just sayin
do not assume that girls are not into sci fi. and this includes Star Trek.
this might have been HER idea and he just went along with it.
that or it was both of them are fans.
I would so love a themed wedding!!
I didn’t know trekkies were hot
may be you should start hanging out at our conventions.
we also can be found doing charity work. like cleaning creeks, roads, pbs fundraisings on tv, etc…
besides. there are 3 classifications on us
Trekist. the most serious. to these folks. ST is their blood and breath. they live, sleep, eat Star Trek 24/7/365
Trekker we admit to loving the Star Trek world. but we do have a life outside the show
Trekkies the groupies. the fickle fans. these are the ones that give the rest of us a bad name. and the name the rest of us tend to unfortunately get tagged with… if it was Star Trek, these folks would be woppy about something else. like skateboarders…. as soon as the fevour about what is popular is over with. they head off for the next popular thing that the fad is about.
best to ask what definition a person who likes Star Trek falls into. never make the mistake that we all are groupies waiting for the next big thing to fall over. the first two will never leave ST. the last group will once the show ends….
Those definition are new to me. O_o Thought rule of thumb was Trekkies were the serious ones who cosplay and such, Trekkers are the fickle ones that like the show but don’t want to be involved in the community. But it’s really all a bit hogwash.
Yup. Totally the staged picture that used to be on their site. There are REAL geek weddings, you know. I’ve been to some, including my own. We don’t need to keep going back to the ones that were done as ads or jokes on every site.

Guess I'm the only person that noticed the whole bunch of continuity FAILs…
1) Everyone is wearing Original Series uniforms on the Enterprise-D bridge
2) Except a Borg (the enemy)
3) A guy in Doctor Crusher's labcoat.
Oops, I failed
*replace #3 with:
One single person in a TNG uniform.
I would like to point out again that the groom is wearing a TNG movie style dress uniform jacket (although incorrectly).
I pushed hard for a Klingon wedding but 99% of the wedding party voted me down…I told them at least I didn’t insist on a Betazoid wedding…
