20 Years Too Late for a “Mermaids” Themed Wedding

What’s up with the sparkle explosion around her torso? No torso requires that much sparkle motion, especially when paired with a tiara. Is she a beach princess and a mermaid? Are they serving this as the wedding “cake”? Trying to understand.

Maybe she’s just really into bikinis and sequins. I do always say, ‘Go with what makes you comfortable on your wedding day.’ I’m guessing she stands by the same motto.

We are looking at an explosion WAY lower than I would refer to as “torso”. There is nothing between Grandma and full frontal nudity but glitter and hope.

  2. Cady says:

@Erica: I concur. The line between nudity and “wedding dress” is a bit fine here. I mean, she’s got a kickin’ bod, but isn’t that outfit what the honeymoon suite is for?

  3. Gwhizzy says:

In a church??? Even that me feel old fashioned.

  4. OtterAbroad says:

Wow, yes, I would say it’s more of a sparkling target radiating from her crotch. I am too scared to imagine the rear view!

  5. oana says:

If i’m not wrong, I think this is a Gipsy bride.( actually they are Rroms, you can see that on their faces) at her very own gipsy wedding that it’s quite kitchy.
Too bad that they like so much Romania and won’t leave it so we can breathe some “fresh air”.

    • konkonsn says:

Not too keen on Romania politics, but that there sounds like racism to me…

      • roa says:

It is- Gypsies are second-class citizens in Romania, and are treated with tremendous hostility by the majority of the population, even though they themselves are also Romanian. (Their proper name is actually Romani or Roma, so yeah, the country is named after them.) Romania has the second highest level of segregation of Roma in Europe.

        • wat says:

The Roman Empire was also named after the Romani (actually Rromani) population.

        • err says:

Haha no. The name of the country does not derive from it. It’s from the Romans (like, in Ancient Rome! gasp!) and their name is Rromani. They descend from India, not Rome.

Racism? Maybe, yes; because most of them prove to be untrustworthy people. Of course, there’s always the exception that confirms the rule, but in most of the cases, criminality rate is higher among them.

Lately, their number has grown quite a lot. There always were towns or villages known to be inhabited mostly by gypsies, but nowadays it’s gone to the point that people ask “So what do you think about my home town?” only to get an answer such as “ah, it’s full of gypsies”. It’s really, _really_ not a pleasant feeling.

I do know some trustworthy romani people myself though, but the usual romani I see on the streets are either begging, looking through trash cans or have a general appearance that makes me want to cross the street and not face them.

          • roa says:

Firstly, it’s the exception which proves the rule, and in this context “prove” means “test” like a mathematical proof. So you totally misused that phrase.

Secondly, saying that most Romani are untrustworthy is an incredibly racist thing to say. That’s like saying most black people are untrustworthy because there’s higher crime rates in inner cities.

Thirdly, congratulations, you just showed us that most people in your country are racists, if that’s how they react to Romani living in their towns. How would you like it if someone said: “Oh, I used to like my home town, but now it’s all full of Romanians, ugh.” Insert any ethnic group into that statement. The problem isn’t the Romani, it’s your attitude.

And lastly, and this really the most important, they are POOR because they can’t get jobs because racists like you won’t hire them. Poverty leads to issues such as crime, hunger, and the need to look through trash for food. You heartless, uncaring jerk- you see someone suffering and you cross the street so you don’t have to deal with them?

You make the trolls of /b/ look good by comparison.

            • Emily says:

I love how this has become more about what race she is rather then the dress she’s wearing. Does it really matter? To me, she looks more islander or Hispanic, but what do I know? Honestly though, her race is not the issue here.

              • roa says:

No, her race isn’t the issue. But Oana and Err are being racists. In fact, she doesn’t look Romani- they just decided to use the picture to spread more racism about the Romani.

                • whatever says:

if you would live for a couple of years in Romania you would be a racist too.. you don’t know what it’s like…just so you know, the young women in the picture are rroma; it is quite common for rroma women to dress like that at weddings

                  • roa says:

This is why the EU is investigating your country, you know. Some suspect your governments treatment of the Romani borders on crimes against humanity.

            • Adolf_SS says:

If you like these worms so freakin’ much why don’t you come here and take all of them and you have my word; you’ll be begging us to take them back in 30 days or less. Don’t talk about things you don’t know. Gipsies are the cancer of any modern society, they are just a disease which needs to be erradicated not praised!

              • Whatever says:

God, do you even listen to yourself? ‘Cancer’. ‘worms’, ‘disease’? If anything is ‘diseased’, it’s your mind. Ok, I can get that maybe a lot of them have been forced into a way of life that isn’t so great. They steal and are criminals, okay. But if you gave all of those people a good education, a good place to live, and a good paying job, then I have no doubt that they would be the same as anyone else in your county…well, maybe a bit less racist then everyone else.

                • mnh says:

There are some cultural norms that can make Romani very unpleasant neighbors to have. Since those attitudes and behaviors are often seen as part of their culture and history, many Romani feel entitled to continue to act that way regardless of how it affects the non-Romani living around them.

This makes the people living around the Romani feel ignored and abused. In addition, some Romani feel justified in taking out their frustration with racists on any non-Romani, not realizing that kind of mentality not only makes them as bad as the original racist, but causes the people who originally weren’t hostile to quickly begin to see Romani as a threat to their safety.

Add in the insular character of Romani culture and the non-Romani living nearby aren’t likely to get many positive experiences interacting with Romani. That means there are few examples to contradict the complaints against the Romani.

As the non-Romani get more frustrated and start to get vitriolic in their complaints, those of us outside the situation have a hard time sympathizing. As the Romani are mis-treated, they feel more justified in taking out their anger on the non-Romani around them.

It isn’t just racism. There are some deep, conflicting social issues behind the conflicts between Romani and their neighbors. Both sides have some valid points even though it is rare that either side is able to calm down enough to explain things coherently and without insults.

Both sides are going to have to make some significant changes and compromises to resolve the social tensions. Since neither side wants to be assimilated by the other, and both sides are very proud of their history and culture, it’s difficult.

In the meantime, you can expect to see people like err and roa to poorly articulate years of culture conflict and frustration in broad generalizations. You will find just as biased views presented by Romani about other Romanians. It’s social conflict.

              • roa says:

Obvious troll is obvious, but I appreciate your caricature of the above commentators. I don’t think they understand that they sound like this though. Subtlety is lost on the stupid.

            • blackpanterah says:

dude, are you from romania?if not, shut up!!!you don’t know the situation! gipsies are untrustworhy, they act like they own anything, they pick fights, they steal and are a general nuisance. Ok,there are exceptions, but only a few as far as I know. Please,do not talk if you are not in on the subject…or maybe you are romani yourself, than…sorry if I offended you- I don’t want my car to disappear “magicaly” or my throat to be cut.

              • ali-g-string says:

Dullards. Gypsies are not a race. There are 3 races; Caucasian, Negro, and Mongol. You don’t like another people of the same colour then you’re just culture-hating.

        • Alex says:

There’s no way you’re that big of an idiot…You either live on the Moon or in Alabama. The name Romania has absolutely nothing to do with gypsies which are nomads in origins so they don’t actually belong anywhere. Racism? F*** you, gypsies are extremely violent and lazy people and because people like you don’t know what they’re talking about hard-working and honest Romanians get confused for gypsies and people end up getting hurt or even DEAD in countries like Italy, Spain or Greece.
Go back to school or check Wiki from time to time, they’re both great places to keep you non-retarded

  6. Pela says:

OMG !!! Prom dress/ Wedding dress/ Whatever is not appropriate to show everyone your sparkling *****

I like how she puts her hand on her back > maybe no sequins there? ahaha

  7. Renee says:

    Glitter Crotch !

  8. pix says:

Looks more like Vegas showgirl wedding..I’m sure the groom loved it though.

  9. britalin says:

you’re all wrong. its a Quinceanera dress.

    • mojojo says:

That’s not funny. No 15 year old should wear that.

It doesn’t matter who it is or what the occasion is, that’s just trashy.

  10. Emily says:

Actually, I kinda like this dress. Don’t get me wrong, I’d never wear it, but it looks nice on her. The lady next to her, however, looks like she’s swallowed soap and I think it has more to do with her own dress then the bride’s. Also maybe her hat.

  11. Lathon says:

first for being the one to see how attractive the girl is :3

    • Emily says:

Ya know, I was thinking that she looks like a more tan version of my aunt, who is also a very pretty person. I think this dress might have looked good on her too.

  12. Mike says:

    death penalty for dress designer….

  13. Geisha_Girl says:

The hat on the one on the left needs to be put out of her misery. She looks sadder than the hat.

  14. Fanboy Wife says:

    Nice sparkling crotchtopus.

  15. Mixmasta says:

When Vajazzling goes way, way too far.

  16. buhnessuh says:

actually, Im going to say its a Quinceanera dress as well…I’ve seen some pretty wild ones, but this is beyond me..

  17. TabooSushi says:

She looks a little too old to be 15, but either way it’s quite inappropriate for any occasion other than a vegas showgirl/stripper’s stage or in the bedroom. I DO think it’s a pretty dress though, whoever designed it certainly had imagination, and at least the woman has the body to pull it off, unlike some people we’ve seen on this site. >_>

  18. Sophie says:

Some of you think it would be okay in the bedroom. Well yeah maybe for someone..
I’m just glad my bf prefers gothic corsetts and not I-shit-kittens princess ugly ugh >_< sorry, but that dress is just ugly, even for a sexy bedroom session.

  19. A says:

If I were to guess where she is from I would have thought Brazil..
BUT that makes no difference.. I would say most people shouldn’t or wouldn’t wear this kind of dress.. but she looks great in it.. theme weddings are awesome.. it’s her day.. shoot, why not wear something she likes and will remember the rest of her life?..
I say thumps up to her!

  20. me says:

    Omg this is heartbreaking…
is it fucked up that I think this is probably in brazil?

    • allyn says:

unless you’re thinking CARNIVAL in brazil…. cuz ppl go around town in only minor body paint in carnival.

    • Jess says:

Lol, Yeah, I’m sure the mostly Catholic population treats their wedding day as an opportunity to eye-rape the guests at church…

  21. Donnie says:

Well, no-one’s questioning her commitment to Sparkle Motion.

  22. Fabs says:

I find it difficult to dislike that dress on her. I mean, come on now.

  23. Ladolcevita says:

Her taco looks like it went to a mac makeup counter…..

  24. satan says:

    damn hot.

  25. Taia says:

Now that’s a wedding chapel in Vegas dress if I’ve ever seen one!

  26. wanderyonder says:

Aw, shucks. It appears as though I missed Cher’s garage sale…again. Oh, if I could turn back time…

  27. Miss Bea Movie says:

The chair in the corner is really ugly.

  28. john says:

if you feel like Romanian people have no reason to hate gypsies and consider us racist i suggest getting them in your area. I will gladly pay their transport to your city/county/state/country.

  29. john says:

    not romanians dumb ass, gypsies

  30. Do Be Do Be Do says:

Even hospitals in the US have problems with gypsies stealing. I’m not making this crap up. I work in southern California and many hospitals actually do have special and specific procedures for dealing with gypsies. They can, have, and will if permitted the opportunity, take absolutely anything not nailed down. I think the racism is a bit stupid and extreme, but then again I can see where it comes from.

  31. Mamaursula says:

Really? Was the racial slur necessary?

  32. The_Ambient_One says:

Its a Vegas show girls wedding dream come true! Her slightly bummed expression is because mommy and daddy refused to pay for the wedding if she chose to wear a full feather headdress ensamble instead of a veil. The sacrifices you’re force to make to please your parents….

  33. noname says:

It’s obvious that most of u ppl don’t know what u are taling about. Yes she a gypsy from Romania. And yes Romania comes from the roman empire not from the gypsies. And yes we have every reason to hate them. Try living here for a couple of weeks than we can talk about it. You don’t know how it is to see gypsies everyday and to steal from you, to attack you in gangs or even to touch you in your intimate places ..ok… i’ve been there cuz i was born here in Romania and i can’t wait to get out of here or to kill all the gypsies.

  34. Diana says:

noname its kinda like what america is dealing with in the terms of illegal immigrants and them not paying for there hospital stays and getting freebies from the goverment that is meant for people born here. and yea i had problems of illegals getting fresh with me too thinking oh she young she wont understand ..wrong lets just say there genitalia is no longer in working order{my mother and father taught me defense at an early age and what was ok and not ok). Now im not saying all illegals are bad and many are not like the above mention but they are still illegally here and should go through the right avenues to be here proplerly so they are not taken advantage of and can get higher paying jobs and live life normally and also not be a burden on america in giving them freebies that they are not entitled too. so i agree with you no one can disagree with you till they experience first hand what you go thru in your day to day life and experiences with said people. but the girl looks more like she is wearing a quincetara dress i have been invited to a quincetara and i felt obligated to save her honor and by the girl a dress because she showed up in a lacy seethrough bra and underwear and garter{many passerbys got freaking boners girl was only 15!} thankgod there was a dress shop nearby and she thanked me and wore that for the rest of the day needless to say being 13 i fully ripped the parents a new one for alllowing her to show off her goods and educated them on rape and pediphiles.we are still good friends and the parents are honored im her friend with sense her other friends suggested she wear that tasteless getup obvously they didnt understand what a quincetara was a transition into adulthood wih new responsibilitys and honor :)

  35. Zahrah says:

The green, at least, is a belly dance costume. And a cheap one at that. Many unskilled people try to make the costumes and one of the easiest ways to spot this is that the cups of the bra are up side down. Mercy!
