Funny Wedding Photos - Trainwreck

Submitted by: dunno source via Submit Page

Bridesmaids, kids…c’mon, now, everyone lend a hand. This train ain’t stoppin’! I’ve got my crown fastened, my hair extensions are all in place, my hand’s on my hip — it’s time for me to get married! Nobody drop my dress train until I say so. I didn’t get this thing custom made just so it can be dragged on the dirty ground, did I??

[ed. note: Why are the bridesmaids also wearing white? I'm no traditionalist but isn't that kinda weird? Is it so they don't clash with the bride's train while she's walking down the aisle?]

  1. Erica Romeo says:

I wish we COULD get a better picture of those bridesmaids dresses! Is it me, or are their skirts made of teal boas?

    • Carlos says:

Yeah, those bridesmaids are wearing some shade of light blue, not white. I mean, yeah, there are white *parts,* but I would call that a blue dress.
Is that editor’s note saying that it’s supposed to be that *no one* wears even the *slightest* bit of white except for the bride?

    • imillard says:

That would be quite a photo.

A “dress” made from a teal bustier and seafoam green feather boas.

  2. IAmStaggered says:

This is from a UK series called ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’. It’s almost definitely as good as Lost.

  3. samdescartes says:

The brides with the HUGE dresses like this are usually Travellers Weddings esp UK/ Ireland and would you believe the heavier/ bigger the dress more kudos to the bride who are usually just 16-18 years of age who ‘desigm’ their own dresses! Bridesmaids frocks will be as big as Brides!

  4. Peachy says:

The bridesmaids dresses are mostly blue with some white. But if you have to have a humongous gown, the bridesmaids better match!

  5. Quats says:

The bride looks like one of those silly cakes where they stick a plastic half-a-doll-on-a-toothpick into the top, so that the cake makes a huge oversized ballgown more-or-less matching the top of the plastic doll.

She should probably worry about people trying to slice her up thinking she’s the wedding cake.

  6. J-hall says:

Traveler weddings crack me up! It’s like watching “Toddlers and Tiaras- The 10 yr Reunion”!!

  7. Jaybelle says:

And I call this lovely dessert ‘Pikey Pavlova’. C’mon, dig in.

  8. myself says:

Bridesmaids use to wear the same thing as the bride so the groomsmen wouldn’t know who to kidnap, the evil spirits didn’t know which is the right target, and various other “protective” ideas.

  9. Bolitochrome says:

Actually, traditionally bride’s maids would wear the same color and style of dress as the bride to confuse evil spirits who would want to curse the marriage. The groomsman would all dress the same as the groom as well.

  10. lalala says:

bridesmaids are wearing blue and white, so they can match the brides bouquet.

  11. Fanboy Wife says:

The bridesmaids are wearing white because they are the train!

  12. Alyson says:

pikeys and irish travellers are two different things when it comes to stuff like this actually. The fathers stick around with travellers and pay for all this…pikeys are theivin gypos and a lower class.

Sure this is tacky as hell to us but its their version of splashing out on vera wang, or a tribal woman wearing a feathered headdress…..its different cultures…

    • Danae?! says:

Watch your filthy mouth about pikeys, good miss. I’ll have you know they think and say the same thing about the travellers , just in uglier language xD

  13. Paulo says:

The hair and tiara is a rip-off of Jordan’s (that arbiter of taste and style) wedding get-up.

  14. Murasaki says:

    The bridesmaids are wearing blue….

  15. Emm says:

Why are all these poor things so horribly orange/tan looking? This one isn’t too bad but a lot of the traveller wedding images I have seen the brides look like they bathe in fake tanner.

  16. PointerOuter says:

All that light blue and white…it’s like a living feminine napkin ad.

  17. Meesha says:

These Irish Traveller wedding crack me up! I can’t imagine spending that much money on a wedding, especially on a dress you will wear once!

  18. Some Guy says:

And the bride is thinking, “Look at ME. I’m an attention whore.”

That’s not the only train she’s pulled.

  19. Shavovo says:

Another pic from the My Big Fat Gypsy wedding hall of fame!

  20. amy says:

ye i watched this programme. this particular bride was 22 i think which is considered old for a traveller to get married and all the dresses were like this – this bigger the dress the better the bride you are. But there was one bride who broke tradition n wore a fitted dress.

  21. phoenix says:

Maybe she’s a lazy bride, and she’s concealing the motorized wheelchair that she’s sitting on under that dress. Roll on to the wedding!

  22. Cornelia Beth Huntington says:

    LOL, tacky. Tacky. Tacky.

  23. dom says:

that bride isn’t human, it’s a lifesize barbie

  24. Steph says:

    Holy cats, it’s Bridezilla Barbie!

  25. Lai-Lai says:

It’s amazing what you can made out ofa junglegym, a table cloth, & a shag carpet.

  26. Jaeda says:

there are weddings (at least here in the US) where *everyone* wears white – bridesmaids, groom, parents, everyone. they’re called snowball weddings, but really they should be called “we let P. Diddy dress everyone!” they’re horrible. and now I must google Traveller weddings. my Traveller knowledge is limited to “The Riches.” clearly, I’ve missed out on the good stuff.

  27. defenestrate says:

The white and blue dresses (diff. configuration between bride and bridesmaids) are actually purposely chosen so that when the cops show up to the blood orgy they can just say they were too patriotic to let that poor fat man live.

  28. Llama says:

She’s not wearing hair extensions (saw the docu this is from), it’s hers.

My hair is longer than that. /offended by the assumption that no one has real long hair

  29. Fuzzman says:

You should probably cut it if its that long. What are you compensating for???

  30. Thalia says:

I’m pretty sure the bridesmaids are wearing light blue, not white.

  31. Loren says:

    Fugly dresses

  32. Steph says:

I’m going to have to watch My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. I’m clearly missing out on some prime entertainment!

  36. mightykbchan says:

I learned from my Roman Civ professor that back in the old days of the Empire, bridesmaids dressed in (usually white) garb identical to the bride. This was meant to confuse evil spirits who might want to carry the bride off. Just imagine a half dozen women dressed exactly like this–or even better (worse?)–the poor demon that would throw his back out trying to carrying this bride away.
