“C’mon, gang! Onward to the reception!” I love this picture because if you look at the way back of the line, there are people who look like they weren’t invited to the wedding who have joined in. It’s like a campy movie scene where the party gradually gets bigger as they wheel through town, growing from 20 people to 200 people.
Or at least, that’s what I’ve decided in my head. I’m probably wrong, but a girl can dream. Either way this picture is awesome. (Except I feel kind of bad for the bride, who probably should have changed into a more practical garment first. Live and learn.)

With my luck, I would hit a pothole!
My mom and step-dad (who met hot air ballooning) had their hot air balloon wedding on a popular New Mexico balloon field. There were five balloons in our party and the plan was for those five balloons to take off at the end of the ceremony.
What we didn’t know was that word had spread to all the balloonists on the field. They all held their launches until the moment we launched. I lost count at thirty. It was amazing. Nearly twenty years later, it still moves me to tears.
I hope that this couple, their wedding party and everyone who chose to join in will remember that day as fondly as I remember our day.

Do you remember that episode of “Lucy” where she went rollerskating the afternoon before she was supposed to go to a dance? For some reason they couldn’t get the skates off, and she had Ethyl lower the hem of her dress so that it covered the skates.
You know what the hardest thing about roller blading is?
Telling your dad you’re gay.
