Here’s what my ideal Ghostbusters-themed wedding would entail: Rick Moranis would officiate, the cake would look like this, and everyone would throw marshmallows at the couple as they made their exit. (Note: Nothing about this incorporates themes from Ghostbusters II…’cause it kinda sucked.)
These guys are well on their way to making my dream a reality with their exterminator outfits and backpacks. The dude on the right (Best Ghost Buster Man?) even looks like a Ghost Buster, had one been played by Dax Shepard. My only point of contention is with the bride. Her dress is nice and all, but wouldn’t it have been more fun to wear something like this? Methinks yes.

Copy & paste this:

I do oh so hope there were Gatekeeper – Keymaster puns made.
That was in their vows!
Why oh why is that kid not dressed as Slimer?
I wouldn’t want to be the one to open the fridge to get the cold buffet!
I can’t let my husband see this – he might want to renew our vows! (The only way I would go along with it is if I could be the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!)
Works for me, he IS white after all….
oh and the cake was friggin awesome!!! had little staypuff men on it and everything
Am I the only one imagining the processional as the theme song?
it was
this was my wedding
Here’s hoping that the bride used the immortal line, “He slimed me,” on her wedding night.
What?
It’s what you were all thinking.
Odd. I just re-watched this movie last night. And aside from the armbands the bridal party put virtually no effoprt into teh theme. Fail on their part.
You can’t see it in this pic but they all have little mini traps and other little things .
Meh – could have had more kitch appeal… but you have to keep it clean for the ‘rents. The have money and buy gifts.
Oh – and the bride could have gone more ghost-like if she’d had a smoke-machine behind her….
Gotta say, I’m not loving this themed wedding. Of course, it’s in someone’s backyard, most likely the groom’s parents, so you gotta work with what you got.
Actually it was the bride’s sister’s backyard. Perhaps you would have preferred it be a Star Wars themed wedding, but we’re not really into that.
Since it was my wedding, I’ll shed some light on this photo. It was my wife’s idea, first of all. We had a handfasting ceremony the year before with friends during the Texas Renaissance Festival because we both work there and it’s been a big part of our lives, mainly the wife’s. Naturally, the wife insisted that we have the legal ceremony be themed more towards my life and hence… a Ghostbusters wedding. Myself, my wife, and the groomsmen are all members of various Ghostbusters fan groups, most promininently the DFW Ghostbusters.
Sure the wedding was on a tight budget and it doesn’t really compare to rows of storm troopers marching behind the happy couple, but it’s what we love and we were happy to incorporate it into our marraige.
And yes, there was a Gatekeeper/Keymaster pun in the vows as well as the theme song being the processional.
The bridal party had miniature ghost traps as well as name badges with their armbands, but part of the reason they weren’t dressed in GB uniforms or as Zuul was because: 1. it was cold and rainy and Zuul wasn’t practical. and 2. the bride had the dress made by friends so that it could be modified later and worn at seperate occasions. We believe in getting as much use out of stuff as we can.
Hope that adds some clarity to the photo.
Belated salute to you, sir. You’re one lucky, lucky man.
She looks like Abbey from NCIS. Where’s the caff-pow??
Holy crap, I’ve met the dude on the right. He seemed like a cool guy and yes, he was wearing the Ghostbusters getup at the time. There’s a buncha these guys and their containment unit gear makes noises and lights up and everything, it’s pretty sweet.
They’re are making a Ghostbusters 3. It comes out in 2012!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve heard rumors too but are they real this time forgive me for being a sceptic? A lot of false alarms will get a persons hopes up after a while
Hmmm…not so much.
What are you guys talking about? Only thing I see here are the bride’s huge knockers.
I can’t help but think that this would have worked a lot better if the bride was dressed as a *ghost*, done up with white makeup and white hair. You could have a spectral bride situation on your hands. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/6/22/
I thought the girls were the ‘ghosts’ (in grays and white) and the guys the ‘busters (obviously).
thank you
anyone else see Red Green peeking around the bridesmaid back by the fence?
OMFG, I KNOW THEM!!!!
And as to the question about the bride wearing the red silky Zuul outfit?
Yeah, if you actually knew her, you’d be screaming “NOOOOOOOOOOOO” as you volunteer to have your testicles gnawed off by disease infested field mice.
What’s that supposed to mean?
What does that mean?
meaning?
lol, this made my day! Been a GB fan and collector for 20 years… maybe I can trick my boyfriend into a GB wedding. @:8-)
Gratz guys. Awesome pic, you’ll have to show me the rest sometime.
WRONG! The bride’s armband is obviously the Ghostbuster’s 2 logo. LAME!
I think I know them!
The bride looks like my sister! I soo wouldn’t be surprised if she did this.
Holy shit I know them! They’re folks I know from Ren Faire
