Bridesmaids Dresses Literally from Hell

Funny Wedding Photos - Bridesmaids Dresses Literally from Hell

Submitted by: dunno source via Submit Page

Yowww these dresses are hurting my eyes. I feel like I need to put on my sunglasses. Was the bride trying to make her friends look like they were on fire? Perhaps the wedding had an “elements” theme? Or was this just a case of nerdy girls who are fashion-impaired? They all have nice figures…it’s a pity everyone at the wedding was likely too blinded to notice.

  1. C says:

I like that the two on the left are wearing undershirts, because those necklines are SO revealing.

    Scandalous!

  2. wozzle says:

I’ve seen worse, but why are the two on the left wearing tee shirts under their dresses?

  3. Katie says:

@ wozzle – I was thinking the same thing. It’s okay to show some cleavage on special occasions, ladies!

    • Deanna says:

The only explanation I could think of is maybe they are supper conservative and it’s an age issue? Like the two on the left are not 18 yet and therefore can’t show anything?

  4. Nolly says:

You sure those are bridesmaids? They look so young, and the modesty0panel undergarments seem more odd for a wedding than a high school function of some kind.

  5. "Stripperella" says:

Looks like Padme Amidala’s handmaidens have tossed their wimples (or made them into the little shrugs they have)..

  6. Pixy says:

I’d be willing to bet that the bride comes from a conservative church, that’s why 2 (or 3? Is the 3rd girl showing a little bit of white at her cleavage, too?) are wearing camis and they all have homemade jackets to cover their upper arms.

  7. karen says:

those really aren’t that bad. i mean, if the colors were toned down a few shades, they’d be really pretty!

  8. meowcat2 says:

I like em! looks like fire!

  9. Sheena says:

I am SOOOO happy my soon-to-be sister-in-law decided to have black bridesmaid dresses!!

  10. Elizabeth says:

This is what happens when you let that pimple face minimum wage earning sales person at David’s bridal give you advice!

    • Ren says:

Hey! I resent that! I work in a men’s formal store and I can’t help it if the customer doesn’t like my suggestions and picks their own ugly color scheme instead.

  11. xdbtf says:

The second one from the right’s eyes are going in 2 different directions.
    I’m frightened now.

  12. CamilaF says:

Looks like the Colorguard team captain had a wedding!

  13. meg says:

I’m going to make a guess (inappropriate possible) that given the conservative dress of the people in the back ground, the under shirts 2 of the girls are wearing and the wholesomeness the girls are all portraying that this is Utah. But good gads those colours are bad!

  14. SuperMom says:

I recognise the location…They are at an LDS Temple…therefore they are wearing tanks under their dresses to stay modest..That is also why they are wearing jackets…very loud obnoxious jackets!

  15. mochaccino says:

I have a strong feeling these people are mormons and the hideous orange panels were sewn in for modesty. This is further evidenced by the fact that 2 of these women chose to augment the already extremely modest neckline with a totally inapproprate white tee and a black cotton tank top respectively.

  16. meg says:

@mochaccino, we are thinking the same thing.

I just realized that the terrible inset matches the terrible jacket. Just curious why they would go to all this trouble instead of buying something already modest? Or does modest not come in ugly neon?

    • Pam says:

I am NOT Mormon but I did grow up in an extremely conservative church and, on reflection, the hideous orange panels DO look like they were sewn in to make a neckline more appropriate. Of course, it would seem to me that if you could make the jackets and patch in the neckline, you could do it high enough that they wouldnt also need the camis, but I guess not.
honestly, tho, you have NO IDEA how hard it is to find formalwear that is appropriate for very conservative religious standards, whether it is Mormon, Christian, Jewish, or Muslim. When you are around people who have those strict rules, you do see a lot of this sort of alterations. usually theyre just done in a better color.
and actually, the red is not bad at all. its just the combination with the orange.

  17. Headtail says:

This looks more like an awful choir concert choice based on thier age and the modesty tees under the dresses. One can hope, right? What ever those dresses are for, where do you even BUY that kind of disaster? The bolero jacket is my favorite part.

  18. jennifer says:

They are such lovely, fresh and pretty, looking girls. They could have looked even nicer in some decent dresses. What a shame!

  19. Stonerx3 says:

I can see my reflection. o.0

  20. SilhouetteDreams says:

Why on earth would someone put their dress shoed foot in the fountain?

  21. WHC says:

    I love those dresses!
…there’s something wrong with me, isn’t there?

  22. Geisha_Girl says:

I like the colors together, but not for wearing. Not for wearing…

  23. Fabs says:

Because God forbid we show a tiny amount of cleavage! I know the four of them are pretty young, but… really?

    • Pam says:

well I give them props for being modest, especially if this is what their church or family standard is. its hard to be both modest and stylish, especially when you are young and might not have seen some other, more creative, more tasteful ways to look good and still be within your standards.

      • Amee says:

I don’t get why people knock them for being modest. Maybe they weren’t comfortable showing that much skin? It’s a nice change from 13-14 year olds that look trashier than some prostitutes. The colors are dreadful, and they could have matched the tank tops a little better, but the style isn’t bad.

      • Sangelia says:

I agree with you. but there are websites where one can be both.
I still remember a 14 year old that got after the bigger stores for having only “slutwear” for girls her age. she wanted stuff that was not only modest. but also very stylish as well. and that the bigger stores tended to equate modesty to being frumpy.
there are some of us who can not stand the idea of our “stuff” being shown off to the world. as though we are nothing but low life streetwalkers.

      • tinanoel says:

I’m all for modest, I grew up in the LDS church and wore modest clothes all the time, but there’s modest and there’s excruciatingly modest…my opinion is, if they were to wear the “special underwear” and it wouldn’t show under the dresses they wouldn’t need the undershirts (for lack of a better explanation – most of them are too young to have said “special underwear”, but that’s the standard I grew up with)

  24. Not a Mormon says:

Wow I actually know where that is. It is a mormon church in Logan Utah. I lived there for about 6 months. Now I am not as surprised at the age of the bridesmaids, at first I was thinking the bride either had really young friends or she was really young as well. It turns out she is probably really young. A lot of mormon girls get married at 18 just out of highschool.

  25. Shipoopi says:

    literal /= figurative

  26. jeff says:

who would have thought you could get “powerbait” as a dress color?

  27. TooMuchTime says:

This could be a high school or church choir celebration. It may not be a wedding. That would explain the modest necklines and the jackets. Those might be school colors.

  28. 3.33 says:

I actually really like the dresses… then again, my prom dress was bright orange with hot pink splodges, so I’m probably not entitled to an opinion…

  29. Emily says:

Those are amazing dresses. I just got an idea for MY wedding (lol in about, 10 years or so, but still…)
That has ALWAYS been my favorite color combination, ever since I was little \(^_^)/

  30. NoticedItToo says:

This fountain is at the Bountiful Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon). For confirmation, see my website http://www.photogent.com/. Click the link for “Bountiful” on the right, when the gallery comes up, scroll right to the 6th picture.

  31. Kitty says:

Those dresses are so bad that it took me a while to realize those are a bunch of butterfaces.

    • Hunter. says:

      The brunette is pretty.

      • Pam says:

bright sunlight and harsh shadows are not flattering to anyone. also it looks like theyre probably not wearing makeup. its one thing to bash the dresses – because theyre pretty garish – but the girls are fairly normal looking midwestern young girls. sure theyre not models but theyre not fatsos, men in drag, fake-tanned orange, or any of the other horrors we usually see on this site.

        • meg says:

I really have to agree with Pam. The girls look like pretty young woman in unfortunate outfits with the sun in their eyes.

  32. chika chika slim shady says:

they’re beautiful dresses – for flag girls.

jeez, they are SO BRIGHT. is this supposed to be a summer thing?

  33. Tina says:

I would like all of you to know that i was a part of this wedding and the dresses are really not that bright its just the stupid sun glaring down, and the reason why all of us are wearing undershirts is because of our standards, we feel that we don’t need our bodies to attract people. The Bride was in her late 20s actually and all of the bridesmaids are 17-24 years old. the dresses were really pretty but pictures don’t always show up that great.

  34. Little Lu says:

I am one of those bridesmaids too. When I first saw this, I couldn’t help but laugh. With the sun on them, I think I would need my sunglasses on too. :) I kind of like the idea of these dresses being based around an elements theme. lol. But in all honesty, I think the dresses ended up turning really bold and beautiful in the other wedding pictures of it. The Bride had sunflowers and other bright flowers that looked gorgeous when they were all put together. And my baby girl had an adorable bright yellow and orange dress that really went well with it all. The over jackets as well as the pleated orange tops were made by my aunt to make the dresses modest. The orange turned up to be the best kind of fabric and color we could find for the dresses that actually matched. Wish you guys could see some other pics- they turned out really well!

  35. Agnes says:

I think its to take the attention away from the two fuglies in the middle

  36. meetoo says:

The only reason to make someone you “care” about wear a dress like that is REVENGE!

  37. Brett says:

Okay, those dresses ARE BRIGHT. But, I think those girls are pretty. I can see the redhead being really cute once those braces are off.
    Don’t be jealous chicks…

  39. Coolkirby8 says:

Does anyone besides me actually LIKE the color of these dresses? o.0

  40. stacylee says:

Okay. So your values are such that you needed the dresses to be more modest. No problem with that. But this is a wedding, for gosh sakes, didn’t you have time to find an appropriate colored undergarment that wouldn’t be so obvious? Or, if you can’t find something for under, the seamstress who converted the top could have just put MORE? Even a pretty scarf or something around the neck to cover the cleavage area would have been better than a cotton tshirt neckline. No makeup, ok, that’s your choice, but they could have at least styled their hair special or SOMETHING to pretty it up a little. The red dresses are pretty. It’s the orange necklines and jackets that cause me to go huh? And then all that other stuff becomes more glaring as you look… it ends up how my ever so polite friend used to say “unfortunate”… That’s polite-speak for ugly.
