It’s every girl’s dream wedding: Being escorted down the aisle to the gallows. Everyone says your life ends when you get married anyway, right?! Seems like a perfectly fitting theme………for crazy people.
I can’t figure out if the groom is the executioner or the person walking her down the aisle, but WTF is going on here?? And why are those nerdy groomsmen wearing pirate outfits and grinning like this is all awesometown? This is not awesome. It’s freaky. The bride isn’t even role playing. She’s just like, “Uh, I showed up in my white dress and this is the surprise you’ve been planning? Great.”

Looks like “Pirates of the Caribbean” to me.
Well, I am sure the groom sure feels like these are the last days of his life… So the gallows sure are an appropriate theme =P
no no no… the groom is the guy about to be hung!!! and frankly, for a bride to put up with this, he had better be well hung- errrr… hung well!
There is a reason her back is turned in this photo. So you can’t see her running mascara and sobs because these bastards ruined her wedding.
Pirates of the Caribbean-esque. Not so crazy, in that light. The groom is in all black doing the escorting up the platform, ala Orlando Bloom in the end of the series in his nifty black threads. The executioner is the priest. And this is why men used to fear getting married.;) Personally, it’s totally snazzy, they just escaped the noose to live Happily Ever After.
I think the groom looks way more like the Dread Pirate Roberts.
THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT!!! The Princess Bride is my favorite movie of all time. Win.
me too, totally thought “man in black”…mmm cary elwes =)~~~~~
Dude, you’re right
I also though of this. That would be so cool!
I was going to be really alarmed if NO ONE got that this was a Pirates reference. Hopefully everyone does and the ones that seem not to are just pretending.
I think every one gets the pirate reference. I just hope every gets that this is super lame.
You know, that gallows isn’t nearly sturdy enough.
Its Pirates of the Caribbean themed, based around the last movie i believe. I agree, i would be grinning, it looks like awesometown. Although i am slightly more traditionalist.

I like it. Weddings are mindnumbingly boring..might as well make it sort of interesting. I’d love a Pirate wedding.
Ha! I was totally at this wedding- so awesome to see a picture of it here.
So can you tell us, the exact story behind it?
So the story goes like this…
The Main Pirate (groom) and his men committed crimes against the small town and were caught. The governer (the father of the bride) sentanced them to death. Meanwhile, the bride fell in love with the main pirate and begged her father not to have him and his men hanged. The father agreed (on the wedding day), but only if the pirates gave up their life of crime and the main pirate marry his wife.
Kind of an odd story, but it was a fun wedding really. All the guests came dressed as either pirates (grooms side) or victoria era people (brides side).
Is that a role=play thing, or is that what really happened?
I understand the pirate theme but why gallows? And why is the bride wearing a modern wedding dress and not a more piratey outfit or at least something like in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie? And why are the pirate groomsmen wearing bright blue sneakers???
The gallows are not strong enough? You can dis her pirate themed wedding but now to call her fat? This is too much!
oh come on, he’s not crazy. he just loves her to death.
I think this is awesome. If I ever get married, I want to do something like this.
I agree with most of your points, however a few need to be discussed further, I will hold a small discussion with my partners and maybe I will ask you some advice later.
