If I ignore my initial feminist knee-jerk reaction rooted in a Women’s Studies course taken 10+ years ago, this invite is pretty cool! I mean it’s no lesbian laugh riot or King Kong vs. Godzilla Smackdown, but it’s still a good idea. I’m just not entirely sure why the groom is represented as a giant badass robot hero while the bride is represented as a scantily clad victim with DDD-sized boobs.
But hey! Again, not gonna overanalyze this. Nope. No siree. I simply refuse to acknowledge this image’s blatant disregard for women who do anything but sit around waiting to get “rescued” like some misogynistic wet dream. I just won’t even go there. I can’t and I won’t. So congratulations to the happy couple!!!

what’s funny is that in the original movie, “Forbidden Planet”, Robbie the Robot never picks of Mobius’ daughter like that. LOLZ
Don’t knock Robby the Robot. He had mad husbanding skills. The “badass robot hero” cooks, cleans, sews, drives everyone around the planet and can replicate damn near anything, like a cold beverage. I’d faint in his arms too.
Come to think of it, that does sound pretty good!
I thought that was Tobor.
Tobor and Robby were very similar robots (made by the same man) for two different movies (with nearly identical movie posters). But this is from Forbidden Planet.

Or you could see it this way: she’s having a nap while her must-obey-everything-you-say robot husband carries her around. She only wakes up long enough to give the next set of instructions. A husband you can deactivate when you’ve had enough of him sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
