These Kids Knew Exactly What They Were Doing

Funny Wedding Photos - These Kids Knew Exactly What They Were Doing

Submitted by: Unknown

This is one of those times that my former college self is like, “PSHAW! NOOOO WAY is this real! That would be like, INCREDIBLE.” Let’s just say that every job I had during those years involved a serving tray and a sh*tload of free Jägermeister after hours. *shudder*

Of course, the groom’s last name does have that extra “e” in it, making the image much more plausible. And really, who makes up names like Ernie Jaeger and Tammy Meister? Not me. So congrats, Andrew and Crystal! After the wedding you guys will probably go home with enough bottles of Jäger to last you a lifetime. *blech!*

  1. DA says:

Extra e? No, that’s just how you spell Jäger if you can’t do an ä in your character set – so it’s exactly the same really!

  2. pixiebanshee says:

technically, there isn’t an extra ‘e’ in the grooms last name. In German you can write an ‘ä’ as ‘ae’, so instead of Jägermeister its Jaegermeister.
    But still funny as hell.

    • Mr Obvious says:

Poor groom, being called “Crystal”. But on the other hand, the bride is apparently called “Andrew” so it works out.

  3. Tsarina says:

To be fair, “ae” is commonly used when ë (or æ, for that matter) is unavailable or undesirable. It could be a fake, if you’re judging on that.

    Still funny, though.

    • Tsarina says:

Of course, I meant ä, not ë. Oops.

      • grammar.nazi.youwillnotwin says:

        A) This was mentioned already. See above.
        B) Jaeger is still CRYSTAL’S last name, not Andrew’s. Lern2reedplz

      • Hertz says:

Of course if there are two dots over an ‘i’ or ‘e’ that indicates that this letter is pronounced separately from the letter preceding it.
That is ‘Kookai’ (I can’t do the double dots on my keyboard) is correctly pronounced koo-kah-ee.

  4. Luka says:

Uhm, “ae” is same as ä, only without umlaut. Adding “e” is used to transliterate letters with umlaut in languages that don’t have this (e.g Göring becomes Goering, führer becomes fuehrer etc).

  5. Saffy says:

May they be fruitful and multiply, and may their sons be gods in the annals of fraternity legend.

  6. dissimilitude says:

If I’ve ever seen a couple with a damn good excuse to hyphenate….

  7. Vicki says:

No one seems to have noticed that it’s the BRIDE who has the extra ‘e’. As in CRYSTAL JAEGER?

    Read the whole announcement, people.

  8. kat says:

if their guests are lucky there will be bottles of Jagermeister for wedding favors.

  9. Andrea says:

EPIC WIN. Congrats to the happy, probably drunk couple. :)

  15. Pies says:

This is an actual announcement that ran in the Lincoln, NE paper…no photoshop job.

  16. mollyp says:

Please tell me they decided on a compound last name.

  17. chirurgeon says:

What would be particularly funny is that if neither of them had no idea of the existance of Jaegermeister.

(Oh, and did anyone mention the “ae” instead of umlauts over the “a”? :) ) (locates handy fire-extinguisher)

  18. Capt.F says:

Jägermeister is associated in my mind with smelly old men in horrible German corner bars, smoking cheap cigars, drinking this foul stuff from tiny glasses and telling lies about the war. Poor children! Either Jäger or Meister are acceptable names, don’t link them!
