Am I the Only One Who Wants to Start Singing “On the Wings of Love” Right Now?

Funny Wedding Photos - On the Wings of LoveAm I the Only One Who Wants to Start Singing "On the Wings of Love" Right Now?

Submitted by: Unknown

Typically when a bride wears a tiara, it’s a little tacky and tends to stand out. Not this time, though!

Is she a bird who’s flying the coop to be with her one true love? She looks like she’s preparing to lay a few eggs in that thing. And why the patent white boots? She just had to make the outfit worse? I really don’t understand the short-in-the-front, long-in-the-back wedding dress trend. Maybe someone should explain it to me.

  1. Teal says:

Actually, it looks like she’s cosplaying. As Yuna, I believe. I’ve got nothing in particular against cosplay weddings, if that’s what this is as opposed to just dressing up for a convention – they’re a little silly, I guess, but if that’s what the person wants, then that’s what they want. I’ve always harboured a particular loathing for Yuna’s wedding dress, though. SO ugly. I mean, damn.

  2. Jokoka says:

    …I wore a tiara… *cries*

Well, at least I didn’t wear poultry…. *feels a whole lot better with a big mother of a wink*

  3. Middy says:

Actually she’s wearing Yuna’s wedding dress from Final Fantasy 10. It’s also possible that she’s not even getting married and this is just a picture from a convention (although some girls do actually make the dress to get married in it)

  4. Mina says:

This dress is based off Yuna’s wedding dress from Final Fantasy X. Not sure if this is a real wedding though, or just a convention.

  5. Choco says:

    I think this is cosplay.

  6. Dutchess says:

This dress is actually a copy of the wedding dress worn by a main character in a very popular video game called Final Fantasy X. The wedding dress from that scene has been copied a hundred times over.

This is a good design of what the original looked like.

  7. lunaKM says:

That’s a copy of Yuna’s wedding dress from FFX. I think it rocks! Of course that’s probably because I’m a nerd engaged to a geek. Meh.

  8. Gamer says:

Fair comments though it’s likely it’s just a cosplay event. She’s wearing a replica from Final Fantasy X’s wedding dress worn by the character Yuna. Just google “Yuna wedding dress” to see the original from the game and more cosplay examples. Unlikely she’s an actual bride.

  9. Lisa says:

That’s actually a cosplay outfit from Final Fantasy X. It’s Yuna’s wedding dress.

  10. Midori says:

My first thought was, “Final Fantasy 10″.

    • I Stole Your Hat says:

And you were right, my green friend.
Definitely Yuna’sDress, like everyone else is saying. CHANGE THIS WEDINATOR! CHANGE IT!

  11. Artemis says:

Shorter in the front, longer in the back. It’s the mullet of wedding dresses.

  12. Danna says:

    Yuna’s wedding dress, isn’t it?
    Go otaku!

  13. Sarah says:

Yuna from FF X! It’s a cosplay, and a pretty good one at that :)

  14. Emily says:

I believe that’s actually Yuna’s wedding dress from Final Fantasy X.

  15. Wendy says:

    That’s actually a cosplay dress–it’s Yuna’s wedding dress from Final Fantasy X.

  16. She says:

It’s a cosplay girl wearing FFX Yuna’s wedding gown.
    http://www.freewebs.com/silkywhitemoon/YunaWedding.jpg

  17. Geisha_Girl says:

Good, if it’s cosplay that means that 12-year-old isn’t actually getting married.

    • Nilla says:

http://tinyurl.com/2993tjj Here’s an in game shot of the dress to prove it, as well as a shot of the groom. The character herself is only 17 though, so it is accurate if the girl here is underage (even though 16 is the legal age where I am, it is 18 to be allowed to get married without parents permission).

      • Geisha_Girl says:

Yeah, legal marriage ages vary a lot here in the US, state by state (not sure where you are, Nilla). I think there are still Southern states where 14 is the age of consent… scary!

  18. Mindianna Jones says:

Confirmed – it IS YUNA’S dress from Final Fantasy! She did it WAY better too!

  19. Steph says:

*headdesk* Now I wanna go play FFX again.

  20. Kat says:

It is indeed the wedding dress worn by Yuna in FFX. Finding a good reference picture is hard, though, but here’s one: http://bit.ly/aNEzKJ
Youtube, of course, has the video scenes. It’s a fairly popular cosplay. Probably because, despite it’s complexity, it looks quite cool for the summer convention season.

  21. Ceinwyn says:

Don’t think she’s 12, but it would be über-awesome if that was her real wedding dress. The kind of wedding I would like to be invited to.

  22. Jessie says:

The short-in-front, long-in-back wedding dress is the exact same logic as the mullet. …well, the opposite. Party-in-the-front, business-in-the-back. Best of both worlds!

  23. Suzy Q says:

Ahh, yes. The mullet of wedding dresses…

  24. elsie says:

It’s not elaborate enough to be a Traveler Wedding. The dress looks home made out of cheap fabric, look at the bodice and straps. I saw a wedding where the bride rented a costume dress; this is what that looks like.

    • I Stole Your Hat says:

That’s because she probably made herself. As It’s been said, this is a cosplay of Yuna from Final Fantasy X.

  25. Sangelia says:

no, a tiara is NOT tacky. but goes along with the idea that the bride is the “queen of the day”. since it IS her and her man’s day to shine.
the wings do not fit the dress idea.
though it does look like a anime i have seen several times. the name excapes me at this point.

    • Cherrybomb says:

It is actually Yuna’s ‘wedding’ dress from Final Fantasy X.

    • Andrea says:

Sounds like someone wore a tiara on her big day….

And was it bigger than your child’s beauty contest tiara?

      • John says:

Sounds like. I bet it was one of those Super Ultra Grand Omega Whatchamahoosit Supreme-sized ones.

I love how she says she’s “seen the anime.” xD
It’s like when you go to a convention as an original character and people say “Hey, I saw you in an anime, what was it…?” and then wait for you to explain that no, they haven’t, and that they’re bad at bullshitting.

      • Sangelia says:

nope. but have been researching some wedding customs in some areas. and my kid has yet to be in a contest.
plus depending on the country. with still with noblity living there. only certain nobles can only wear a certain size of tiara.

  26. Lacey says:

That is definitely Yuna’s wedding dress, from the video game Final Fantasy X. This picture was clearly taken at an anime convention. Convention attendees often stop people with good costumes in the hallway and take pictures – note how she is randomly posed next to a fire extinguisher.

For a wedding dress, this would be kinda weird. For a cosplay, it is awesome!

  27. Snow says:

    COSPLAY.

    Like Emily pointed out.

  28. APoto says:

Is it me or does she look like 10 years old?!?!?

  29. Sporklore says:

For me, the straps are the most off-putting part of the whole dress. :/

  30. Cait says:

Yuna’s wedding dress, FFX. I doubt its legit considering the background. =/ Prolly cosplay.

  31. Nilla says:

It’s a cosplay, so it doesn’t matter if she is underage because it isn’t real. I think this is the first Yuna wedding cosplay that is done well. I’ve only seen girls who look nothing like Yuna do it in some dress that barely resembles her dress, I’m pretty sure one was a man.
And yes, at the end of the world’s most depressing wedding ceremony, Yuna does claim she can fly and jumps off a cliff. Although summoning a flying Aeon isn’t flying, it’s cheating. What a whore- don’t claim you can fly if you’re doing to get an oversized bird to do it for you.

    • Nilla says:

SORRY! I forgot to say SPOILER ALERT, although if you haven’t played this game by now you are several years behind.

  32. Acies says:

that’s a pretty good job at cosplaying =)

as for short in front, long in back explanation… it’s pretty simple. Our culture right now promotes sexiness as beauty and suggests that mini skirts are sexy if you have the leg shape for it. On the other hand, long trailing trains have long been associated with wedding dresses, and in the old days, the length also shows the bride’s wealth and status. Girls want to be beautiful/sexy on their wedding, but at the same time want the extravagance and tradition of having long train so it can be immediately recognizable that they are the bride….. the result would be a short in front, long in back design…

  33. Jenn says:

This is a replica of Yuna’s wedding dress from Final Fantasy 10….Its awesome!!!!

  34. Githany says:

I don’t think this is would be a wedding dress fail… I saw the dress and immediately thought, “WHAT? … YESSSS! Awesome!” Wedding dress win.

  35. RS says:

That’s actually a pretty darn good cosplay. She did an awesome job on the back wings. And yes, it’s Yuna from Final Fantasy X.

  36. Kim says:

    Tiaras are tacky, yep.

  37. Naomi says:

a mullet dress? all business in the front and party in the back?

  38. enchantinggoddess82 says:

Not my style of dress – but how come no one has mentioned the boots. I would like them please.

  39. Sophie says:

Yeah, def a cosplay–her con badge on the floor behind her, dropped it for the picture.

    You dun goofed.

  40. AndMixtapes says:

Cosplay or not, actual wedding photo or not, I think this dress is effing epic beyond all belief, and I personally would love to see my wife in a similar dress. It’s unique. It doesn’t look samey like most wedding gowns.

    • I Stole Your Hat says:

Of course, this is a forced wedding, where the character in question is 17, while the groom is, like, middle aged.

  41. rab3 says:

If you marry the jail bait does that make it legal.

  42. ChickyChica says:

I would wear this as my wedding dress.

  43. Fizz says:

Its a Yuna cosplay wedding dress, from Final Fantasy X. And it’s a really, really well done one.

  44. Deboru says:

It’s been said… Yuna FFX’s wedding dress. Is it just me or is the cut really unflattering?

  45. Bev says:

    She’s cute…possibly 12, but cute.

  46. yourmomma says:

I don´t mind if is a cosplay or not, she looks cheap and a bite silly. SERIOUSLY, BAD DRESS.

  47. Piscis says:

terrible couture job, the top is so much high and looks like a kind of bag. By the way, she is very short and that boots and drees don´t help she. Girls, don´t choice the cosplay, it never looks good in real life.

  48. Pannecake says:

like almost everyone else my first thought was, “Oh hey thats a nice Yuna cosplay!” ha ha ha :)

  49. Mel says:

That is a cosplayer in Yuna’s wedding dress at a Con in ATL. It’s just a costume. It appears to be well made, too. Picture of character in dress: http://www.freewebs.com/silkywhitemoon/YunaWedding.jpg

  50. Paige says:

This is Yuna cosplay from Final Fantasy X, actually

  51. Kate says:

Here’s some more pics of this girl: http://www.cosplay.com/costume/177854/

Here’s her profile, not sure how old she really is but I guess she is older than 12.
    http://www.cosplay.com/member/47868/

  52. Amanda says:

My husband would love if i wore this dress. he has always loved that dress.

  53. Aylsa says:

To the owner of the site: please please brush up on your anime. This isn’t the first time that you’ve made an incorrect assumption and been corrected a million times over.

  54. Heather says:

To all the people who realize that this is Yuna’s wedding dress.

Look at the second word: Yuna’s WEDDING Dress.

Still for a wedding, still mostly ridiculous.

  55. Kedi says:

    i LOVE the hair style :) maybe I’ll do that for my wedding if i ever get married o;

and kindda sad I didn’t recognize the outfit as Yuna’s wedding dress considering how many times I watched the walkthrough on YouTube (too much time on my hands)

  56. Blake says:

I actually rather like this, but the cosplayer appears to be 14.

  57. Emma says:

    I can axplain, she’s cosplaying, Yuna’s wedding.
….yes i know 70 people before me said the same…

  58. Abbie says:

    Yuna FFX.

  59. bar1scorpio says:

Easy. Shorter in the front = Easier Access in the limo ride from chapel to reception.

  60. michelle says:

Totally reminds me of Elaina….. No one anybody would ever know :) ?

  61. Cocoon says:

Is is only a cosplay or used for a “real” wedding?

  62. Raven says:

First off, she’s NOT 12. Secondly, she’s cosplaying Yuna from Final Fantasy X and it looks gorgeous in person.

  63. Catherine says:

It’s an EXTREMELY well done reproduction of a Gaming Character costume, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing it in person and the workmanship is impressive especially considering you have to create/draft your own pattern for such a thing! While it may indeed still be a wedding dress, whomever posted it here is plainly desperate for the attention that they would subject a youngster to a forum for such open critiscism.

  64. Jennifer says:

I think it’s beautiful. Also, since when are tiaras tacky? They were pretty standard when I got married two years ago. (Mine had blue stones to match my dress.)

  65. Xion says:

    Final Fantasy! :D
I always loved Yuna’s Wedding dress (though the groom was a douche) This girl potrays her very nicley. :3

  66. Harlequin says:

Yea, she’s cosplaying as Yuna in Final Fantasy X, weather she’s really getting married in it or not is…. not apparent…..

  67. Mugglegirl says:

I know that girl personally. She is not twelve, and she’s not getting married. This, as everyone has said, is a cosplay. I have a picture of this somewhere on my old computer.

  68. Alla says:

    I think that’s just a Yuna cosplayer

  69. Carmondomon says:

The background of this picture looks like the main room of Anime Weekend Atlanta………I think it’s a cosplay

  70. Katie says:

Uh, she’s not getting married, she’s cosplaying as Yuna from Final Fantasy X. Yuna wears this dress during one of the scenes. I’ve done the same cosplay myself and I’m still happily single.

  71. Zib says:

One of the pages someone linked said she’s 17. She looks pretty normal to me; as old as a lot of the freshmen at my college. Plus she’s pretty cute. But… I don’t think I could get over the whole gay ass cosplay BS she does.

  72. Kamiioa says:

This has forever Ruined Yunas wedding for me. the girl looks good and all, but fail cosplay is fail cosplay
