Sure, I like to wrap myself in form-fitting coral-colored velvet dresses from time to time, but in public? No. Especially not with those sleeves. Maybe she was just competing for attention because she figured the groom’s mohawk and skull tattoos would steal the show. And she was right. He looks pretty awesome. I also have a strong appreciation for the officiant’s mustache. Clearly he knows that a little mustache goes a long way.
Sorry you made the wrong choice, bridesmaid.

I’m going to agree. The mohawk rocks. That dress is hideous. No wonder she looks less than impressed.
thought the bridesmaid’s dress is fine.. maybe a little more tame color.. sheesh.. even the shoes match!
I happen to love velvet (but not in THAT colour!) It’s the shiny stuff that looks awful. I’m pretty impressed she has shoes to match. That’s hard to pull off. (Even if she had them died, they are never 100% exact.)
It’s usually the bride that picks the bridesmaid’s dress, since she already has to compete with her groom’s mohawk she may have wanted to make sure she at least outclassed her bridesmaid.
I’m not convinced that she did. Strapless dresses never make small breasts look good. Plus, her friend has excellent posture.
Never? In what planet?
That groom is a freak.. poor girl getting married to that!
If shes marrying him that must be because she loves him. And by the way, the real freaks are picky people, with close minds.
Amazing, I think the groom spent more time on his hair than the bride.
They both made up for the best man, who rolled out of bed, looked in the mirror, and thought, “Yeah, that’s fine.”
Last week.
Obviously the best man is a ‘bed head’ fan…
You sure it’s velvet? I think it’s more like that shiny-thin thingie that changes shade when you move in it. Dunno the name, sorry. (Ok, I know this was not the point.
)
But hey, at least it matches the reddish colours in the mohawk!
I do give her an extra point for that.
You’re correct, it’s taffeta, not velvet
Go figure. I actually like the way I look in coral.
But never seafoam. Insult seafoam any day of the week.
The bride’s maid dress matches the ‘hawk. Wonder who left with whom after the nuptuals…
I’m pretty sure coral was one of the wedding colours because of that fact. The bride in all probability selected the bridesmaid dress in that colour.
For years, I have tried to like coral because I am told it really suits me. This dress has shattered any notions of warming up to the shade in any way.
I have to admit, I kind of like that the ‘hawk matches the bridesmaid dress, though. Obviously, some thought went into that detail.
The bride probably made him dye the streaks in his hair for the wedding. I think it’s cool the colors match pretty well! Ugly dress though.
Not likely that a guy w/that mohawk is “made” to dye his hair.
I’m ok with the bridesmaid dress, mainly because it makes her look like a lost disney princess and I giggle.
Nothing wrong with the bridesmaid’s dress–it looks good on her figure and it’s a pretty tripical color. If anything should be an issue, it’s the obvious disparity between the elegant bride and the overalll elegant setting on the one hand and the mohawk and skull tatoos on the groom on the other hand.
I absolutely agree with you Ivona.
I agree, and I think the bridesmaid is pretty in that dress. They’re probably in a band together and I’ll be the reception was awesome.
her dress looks exactly like Ariel from the little mermaid’s wedding dress….ouch XD
I’d swear the groom was going for a Burberry plaid in the mohawk….
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand what’s wrong with coral? It might’ve worked in a lighter shade or something, but I don’t see anything wrong with it other than the style.
Also, how does a site editor for a wedding themed blog not know that bridesmaids generally don’t get much of a choice over their dress?
I can’t speak for other people’s coral issues. I simply don’t like the color, especially having come from South Florida, where it tends to get overused in everything from clothing to decor. I will speculate and say that coral has been overused in weddings since the 80′s, much as pink and green are being overused for weddings these days. It’s become a rather trite wedding color.
I actually like the dress in the color it has. ._.
Here we observe the male human unfolding his brightly coloured plumage to attract a suitable mate.
i agree with clo and was about to post such a comment…she looks like she bought a disney princesses dress…
But….this picture was already used! Like, back in ’09. but it was sans mohawk. I’m confused….
I like the bridesmaid dress.
