Delightful Disney Wedding Gowns

funny wedding photos - alfred angelo - dresses - Delightful Disney Wedding Gowns

Sleeping Beauty-inspired wedding gown as part of a Disney collection by Alfred Angelo. Thankfully they don’t take too much inspiration from the animated versions, shoulder puffs like Ariel’s are a little too 90′s.

Click to check out all of them! My fave is Cinderella, what’s yours?

  1. Teabobaggins says:

    Belle is my favourite!

  2. Grad Student says:

Snow White. Though Cinderella is a close second for me. Never did see how these dresses relate to the princesses at all though.

    • BMG says:

The dresses look vaguely like the ball gowns/other costumes the princesses wear in the movies. Dye the Belle dress yellow or the Cinderella dress blue and it would make more sense..

  3. Meesh says:

I am totally for the Belle one. I love cap sleeves.

  4. Aria says:

If Cinderella’s and Belle’s had a baby, that would be the perfect dress for me, someone who’s short, flat, and skinny.
Why are no dresses built for small chests! Goodness!

    • ViaKitten says:

They aren’t built for big chests either, trust me. I’m average height, very busty, and curvy, so finding a dress that fits the chest is almost impossible. I’m probably going to have to have a custom wedding dress made -.-

      • Fancy-Schmancy says:

Find a gown that you like and that fits everywhere else. Then ask your consultant if the bust can be altered for you…they have to open the cup and rebuild it so there will be an additional alteration expense. But you won’t need the *whole* gown redone. It may take you two or three tries to find one that can be rebuilt so don’t fall in love with any particular gown until you get a ‘yes, we can!’ from the consultant.

        • Din says:

I’m busty and curvey, but also short. I bought my dress a size too big and had it tailored down to fit me. It worked nicely. :)

          • Kerrbear says:

I’m average height, but busty with a small-waist and hips. The wedding dress consultant I had said it would likely be better if I got a dress that fit my bust and to size the hips and waist down.

      • clicky says:

I am very curvy and I bought the Belle dress. It fits very well with my busty chest, although alterations need to be done. But keep your hopes up, Alfred Angelo does wonders :)

    • milieus says:

I know! I have to get boob inserts put into mine to make me look like I fit my dress.

  5. Holly Doll says:

Eee, I’m having the Cinderella one for my wedding next year! Can’t wait!

  6. Jessi says:

I love mermaid dresses, so I think Ariel’s is amazinggggg!

  7. valamarama says:

Definitely Ariel, but I also wanted to be her when I grew up so perhaps I am biased?
However Belle is a close second.

  8. Britneyv says:

The tiana dress is the deal!

  9. Nilla says:

Jasmine, Belle and Ariel are tied joint first for me.
What film is Tiana from? I haven’t seen many Disney films and she hasn’t appeared in Kingdom Hearts.

  10. Raeni says:

I love the Snow White one and the Belle one… Unfortunately, neither of them has all the features I want in a dress :/

  11. jamisings says:

They all suck. None of them have sleeves. I’m sorry, but without sleeves it’s just crap.

    • Heathen says:

Wedding dresses with sleeves look Mormon.

      • Maz says:

I don’t think so. I think that sleeves done well can look nice.

        • Aria says:

Depends on your definition of “sleeves.” Belle has capped sleeves. Besides, currently many (if not most) weddings are outside, which, unless in cold weather, makes sleeves an extreme hassle. When I get married in Florida, in the summer, outside, there is no way in hell I’d want any sort of sleeve.
That, and most people getting married are youngyoungyoung, and therefore tend to dancedancedance, and apparently ‘arms up’ is the coolest way to dance, which sleeves on an already heavy and large, poofy dress would be nearly impossible.

          • Heather says:

Since when? I learned to dance in a heavy dress with sleeves and managed the spins, dips, and lifts just fine.

Since these dresses follow a sort of fantasy motif, split sleeves or petal sleeves or any of the other zillion styles would work. Belle’s dress is a great example of something with a little sleeve that still looks great.

If you have a sizable chest, strapless anything isn’t a good idea. Not to mention strapless and sleeveless dresses are designed to show off gorgeous shoulders that too many of the girls wearing them just don’t have.

          • Maz says:

My definition of (nicely done) sleeves would be Duchess Kate’s (formerly Kate Middleton) sleeves.
            Amazing.

        • sarah says:

          sleeves are so 80′s

          • Maz says:

            It depends on the sleeves.

(Duchess) Kate’s sleeves for example, were nice. In fact, her dress was very near my fantasy dress.

      • Idia says:

Mormon wedding dress sleeves aren’t real sleeves. Caps that cover your shoulders aren’t sleeves in my book.

My wedding dress had sleeves; it was also 15 degrees outside with really biting wind.

      • kytfox says:

how does a dress look a religion?

      • kittyluv28 says:

I’m a Mormon, and my wedding dress had short sleeves that came about halfway down to my elbow. We dress modestly, which isn’t always fashionable, but it means enough to us that we make that sacrifice. Most of my friends at the time of the wedding weren’t Mormons and they all loved the dress, so you know what? I’m going to take that comment as a compliment!
        Thank You!

  12. songbird says:

I want a Sleeping Beauty one, but only if it repeatedly changes from blue to pink and back again.

  13. Isa says:

Oh, they are all so pretty! It’s hard to pick. I think Belle if I had to choose for myself… although Tiana’s and Snow White’s are really gorgeous too. I really like the flower accents on Tiana’s.

  14. Kitty says:

belle all the way, just gorgeous! btw beauty and the beast was my all time fav

  15. pooslie says:

    i like Tiana’s the best

  16. R says:

Eh, I don’t like white wedding dresses.

  17. Tartsonawire says:

I think I like Snow White’s the best…funny, considering she’s my least favorite princess lol

  18. Jenn says:

    Without a doubt Belle.

  19. Psychethos says:

I’ve genuinely considered the Belle dress for my wedding. If I were to get a proper poofy princess-y one, that’s the on I’d go for. I am going for something with a little less muchness, though.

  20. horskierofl says:

I love Belle and Snow White’s dresses…if you go to the website or blow up the picture you will see flowers all over the bodice of Snow White’s dress and scattered on the skirt which I love!

  21. sarah says:

Tiana and Belle are tied for me. Tiana is from Princess and the Frog, which came out last year.

  22. kittiemama says:

Nilla, I see no one answered your query- it is from the most recent Disney Princess movie-The Princess and the Frog- the 1st African-American Princess

  23. ashphi2795 says:

    1. Snow White.
    2. Cinderella
    3.Belle
    4. Ariel.

  24. Sol says:

Cross-breed Tiana and Belle’s dresses (Belle’s sleeves on Tiana’s dress), that would be my ideal!

  25. Lena says:

Hmm, I wish I could see Tiana’s skirt… I think I LOVE it the best, but I want to see the skirt better!! I also think I LOVE Belle’s, as long as both shoulders are the same cut :)

  26. theresa says:

Haha, omg, I’m actually buying the Cinderella dress for my wedding!

  27. Belle. Most definitely Belle :)

  28. dot says:

    Definitely Belle

  29. Katya says:

Strangely, I agree that white wedding dresses are not the way to go and that the Ariel design is the best. And despite being a *total* tomboy, I also wanted to be her when I was a kid. Gotta love those redheads!

  30. Jess says:

The Cinderella dress is just stunning. I want it!

  31. MUMS says:

Sleeves, yes! But may I express a note of my disapproval of strapless wedding gowns that are so favored of brides these days. Enough already, with brides built like Sumo wrestlers in strapless gowns! If your bust size and the circumference of your SUV’s tires are the same, opt for sleeves, a collar, something, please. If your gown is supported beneath the gauze by aluminum plating, wear a gown with a full bodice and sleeves and a collar and then see how attractive a slightly plunging neckline will look instead. Disney’s gowns are lovely – all of them. Those trim models can carry them off. The rest of us, go for more fabric. Thanks. I needed this rant. I’ve been disgusted with topless gowns on top heavy brides for a long time.

  32. Rosieb says:

It’s a tie between Tiana and Belle, for me, with Jasmine’s a close third. I love the string of flowers motif on Tiana’s one.

  33. Riddle says:

    Belle! ^—^

  34. Maz says:

Meh, I’d like to see some dresses that are more inspired by the actual dresses of the princesses. I’m not saying they have to be replicas, but I’d like to be able to look at it and automatically see the inspiration of the dress.
Otherwise I don’t entirely see the point in labelling them as Disney Princess dresses except for the Disney/Designer label and publicity sharing.

  35. TheDietSquid says:

I can’t believe no-one likes the Jasmine one- apart from Ariel it’s the only one that actually seems to relate to the princess in question (and even then it’s tenuous) but it’s beautiful and it would suit me down to the ground. And then some, cause it looks about a foot too long for me ;)

  36. Alfie says:

Who is Tiana? Maybe I’m just late to the Disney party? Also a friend of mine tried on Snow White’s dress and it was so pretty! Very sweet. She’s not getting it though.

    • ReleaseThePie says:

She’s a princess from the Disney movie ‘The Princess and The Frog’ It was only released last year.

  37. Sheesh says:

I like the Tiana dress. Maybe if we ever renew our vows… :-)

  38. Lilym says:

    Belle! Followed by Cinderella.

  39. essiesmom says:

Mums – thank you! I find the look of miles of dress and more than I need to see of the top half nekkid just irritating visually. It’s a bit like the groom wearing full tux except for the pants.

  40. I’m really torn between Belle, Cinderella and Snow White… They are all so beautiful! Makes me wish could get married all over again! lol!

  41. cate says:

    i like belle!

  42. Katttty says:

They also have a brand new Rapunzel inspired dress!

  43. [...] Delightful Disney Wedding Gowns Sleeping Beauty-inspired wedding gown as part of a Disney collection by Alfred Angelo. Thankfully they don’t take [...] [...]

  44. WhiteCitrus says:

Picture #1: And the bride wore….Kleenex. Well, at least if she cries, she’s prepared.

  45. Diane says:

I’m torn between Snow White and Belle – just can’t pick which is my favorite!!

  46. Tuiteyfruity says:

Jasmine, that is a sweet dress, i want one for me. but i wouldnt look as hot in it

  47. Pamela says:

Belle and Tiana are my top two. I was hoping I’d like Ariel’s. I love mermaid style; I wish I’d not been too chubby/generally oddly shaped to pull it off. I’m top-heavy, too, and wanted a strapless gown… until I saw it on. *shudder*

  48. Marta says:

the good part is that they can be done in other colours – my dress is latte coloured and i get plenty of comments on it! i looked at the disney ones and a deep red / wine coloured one was on the rack – wow!

  49. coolkirby8 says:

    I like Belle and Tiana.

  50. Jennifer McDonald says:

I like Snow White, Belle, then Cinderella. I love the traditional bride-of-confection thing. Awww…

  51. keele12 says:

belle or jasmine. take your pick.

  52. chrissy says:

    i love jamine’s.

  53. Allison says:

They’re all so pretty!!! I couldn’t do Ariel, not skinny enough, although I love the mermaid silhouette. Belle and Snow White are my favorites.

  54. SlaveBelleMorte says:

Belle is my favorite and is actually similar to the dress I’ll be wearing in my wedding this September.

  55. nitpicker of Midgar says:

The Belle dress is the only one that looks like it has any sort of reverence, like it’s actually for a ceremony and not just to shout “look how hawt I am!”.

On the whole, none of them look enough like any of the film dresses to warrant being licensed. As others said, take off the label, and they could be anyone’s designs. What about Ariel’s actual wedding gown wasn’t “wedding-y” enough? Why wouldn’t Cinderella’s ballgown work as it was in the movie? Or Belle’s? Aurora’s gown was off the shoulder AND had sleeves – it was elegant. If you’re going to spend the cash for a Disney label, why wouldn’t you want it to be accurate? If you don’t want to look like you’re wearing a costume, why would you buy a Disney Princess dress to begin with?

  56. Barbara says:

I don’t like sleeveless dresses either. Too much fallout. There was an incident with the actress Janet Fielding, who wore a strapless corset. She lifted her arms, and her breasts popped out. Maybe Kate Middleton will start a new trend. My wedding dress has straps. I was thinking of making a little jacket to go with it. (I’m fairly good a sewing.)

  57. jesusfreak says:

    1.ariel
    2.jasmine
    3.belle
    4.snow white

  58. Rico says:

Eeek, I feel a bit bad, but to be honest, I don’t like any of them, though I now that wedding dresses (arguably more than almost ANYTHING else) are really a matter of personal preference.

If I had to pick, then Snow White, and Tiana’s is alright, but I can’t help but think that the Cinderella one is just a pretty normal dress, you know, really ordinary and boring. How do pretty much ANY of these dresses have any basis or inspiration in the ones from the films?

Am I the only one wondering if there is NOTHING that Disney won’t try and make or be involved in in terms of branded merchandise of?

  59. kittyluv28 says:

Anyone else noticing that these gowns look nothing like the dresses the Princesses wore in the animated films? They’re pretty, but they just look like all the other dresses in the magazines. All I’m saying is, if the designer is going to market these gowns as “Disney Inspired” they should look more like the gowns from the movies we girls have grown up with!

  60. fail_of_doom says:

    They’re all so pretty!~

  61. Pam says:

Already married, so I cant pick out a gown …. love them all!! I heard about these a while ago – but this was the first time I got to see pictures. I was not disappointed :-)
I can definitely see the influence of each princess on the dresses – Belle’s especially looks like a white version of her yellow ballgown. I think they are lovely without being over-the-top costumey.

and on the whole sleeves/sleeveless debate – there are far more options out there than the ’80s sleeve, cap sleeves, or even Princess Kate lace sleeves. The strapless look is not for everyone, and you may be surprised to see how a little more up top (sleeves or even a halter neckline) looks good.
