Haha, it’s like a marriage of two deep, sacred cultures: Indian and Internet. Love the idea to make it a live remix-cover!

Since we met in part due to the movie the Dark Crystal, we wanted to pay homage at our wedding. The fabulous Monkey and Me Sweets in Lititz helped us achieve our dream. We also had a masquerade theme, I wore a red dress and we did our ceremony as a surprise in the middle of the reception!

Anita Bayliss and Margaret Wood celebrated their civil union by honoring the fandom that brought them together: “Star Trek!” The pair met 14 years ago after Margaret set up an internet forum to discuss the beloved sci-fi series. They decided to wear the ceremonial uniform worn by Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the film “Nemesis,” and asked friends and family to join them in wearing proper Starfleet attire.

Uh oh ladies, I see a lot of redshirts were in attendance! I hope everyone made it back to the ship in one piece!

Throwing flowers is so mainstream. I’m just gonna throw my contempt for the mass-production of wedding culture down the aisle. Or maybe some faux-folksy-plaid-colored-handmade-confetti or ironic mustaches or PBR’s or something.
