Todd J. Remis and Milena Grzibovska (pictured above) were married in 2003 and their divorce was finalized in 2010 (they separated in 2008). Never mind that they are no longer married, eight years after the fact, Mr. Remis is now suing the photography studio for doing a poor job of recording their ill-fated union. Mr. Remis, who has not been employed since 2008, is not only seeking the $4,100 the couple initially paid in 2003, but also $48,000 to recreate the wedding. Yes, long since his ex-wife returned to her native Latvia, Mr. Remis wants to fly her back to stage a redo-wedding all because he claims H & H Photographers missed the bouquet toss and final dance at the original ceremony.

Well, you just need a somewhat plausible reason to sue now a days. So WHY NOT????
Also, I just noticed that they separated the same year became unemployed….coincidence???? I think not….
I noticed that, too. Brought to mind those ‘classic’ hip-hop lyrics –
“I ain’t sayin’ she’s a gold-digger, but she ain’t lookin’ for no broke, broke….”
I want to punch him in the face.
What. The. F$#%.
I wonder why they’re divorced and she moved (back) to a different country.
She probably got away from the crazy.
yep, that was what I was thinking. Staying in this country just wasn’t far enough away.
I guess there’s a reason he had to order a wife off the internet.
This Remis guy is an idiot… most of his arguments are stupid reasons to sue and why he would really expect his ex to actually give a crap about recreating a wedding after a divorce is beyond me.
If he wins this case, our legal system really is screwed. I’m rootin’ for the photog company.
Well, I’m beginning to see why she left him…..
Hey, maybe if the wedding photographer hadn’t messed up in the first place, they would still be married! He deserves to win this lawsuit! I’m surprised he isn’t making the photographer pay for the divorce proceedings, too!
I see what you did there.
Sad thing is the poor photographer will be forced to pay to defend him/herself and even if they win the case and costs something tells me they aren’t going to get any money out of this winner.
This guy wants a paycheck that he doesn’t actually have to work for. He is a loser & she is better off without him.
Final dance? Customer from Hell.
Honestly, I would have been on his side if he brought the suit against the photographer immediately after the wedding when he first discovered that they did not include some of the memorable moments in a wedding that one would expect to have in the album or video. Years later after the divorce, no.
It’s actually possible he may get a little money. Probably not much more than a couple thousand dollars, let alone 48,000. Well, hopefully anyway.
But he doesn’t even know where she is, other than in Latvia.
Yeah, that’s nuts that he doesn’t know where she is! According to the article, they are not even SURE she’s in Latvia. I wonder if she would even have any interest in re-creating the wedding. It sounds like it would be a nightmare.
Dude has some serious unresolved issues! Needs therapy and lots of it! It. Is. Over. Move on.
If they were still married, I could see him winning a small settlement for the missed shots, but I think he is psychotic, looking for any way to force her back into his life AND get a paycheck out of it. Ridiculous!
I don’t know these people, but would happily wager that this is what happened.
1. He’s a nerd making good money on wallstreet, she’s an Eastern European Model/gold digger.
2. He buys her, I mean marries her in a lavish ceremoney.
3. He losses his cool wallstreet job and its salary, she takes all that she can pack and heads back home.
4. He’s grasping at straws from a studio apartment in queens.
This is why we can’t have nice things…
I’ll also happily wager this is what happened:
1. He’s a nerd living in his Mom’s basement, he, however, has a good “line,” something like, “My big break is just around the corner, the gaming companies are lining up to buy my latest war/dragon/vampire game.”
2. She is an exchange student, struggling with the difficulties of English, school and the American way.
3. The gaming companies yawn and order out for Chinese and ignore his many e-mail offers to sell.
4. Then he loses his job as order taker at BurgerBarn. She refuses to live in Mom’s basement with his collection of moldy pizza boxes, piles of fused dirty underwear that have been there since he was in junior high and calls her Dad for money to come home.
I made all that up, but I actually really and truly knew of a similar situation, not exactly that scenario, but with that general trend.
Dude, when something’s over, ya gotta learn how to walk away with dignity. This? Doing it wrong.
*cough cough*….what a whiny little poon!!! no wonder they got divorced. if it follows through i hope she knocks him out at the alter and the photographer shoots it
[...] Remember the groom who’s suing a photography studio to recreate his wedding day because he feels slighted by their original coverage, even though the bride has since divorced him and fled to Latvia? Oh yeah, here comes the justification! [...]
