Suck in Just a Liiiiiittle Bit More!

Funny Wedding Photos - Suck in Just a Liiiiiittle Bit More!

I guess this bride is standing up very straight in an effort to help her poor *bridesmaid get a good angle on her dress, but all I want to do is shout, “YES! YOU ARE SKINNY ENOUGH!!!”

Also, nice random scarecrow, ladies. If you only had a brain, you would’ve steamed that dress hourssss ago. ZING!

*They don’t call ‘em a maid for nuthin’, amirite?!

I Hope That Table is Clean

Funny Wedding Photos - I Hope That Table is Clean

This picture is like one giant collective “NOOOOOOO!!!!” Thankfully, it looks like those smaller lower tiers went unharmed in this classic disaster. The top tiers weren’t as lucky. Pour one out. Top-heavy cakes are never a good idea.

You May Now Kiss the Frog

Feb. 17, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Frog Wedding

I never understand why old news comes through the submit page, but this story from 2009 struck me as particularly post-worthy. Because really, I had no idea that frogs could get married. From the LA Times blog:

A severe rain shortage prompted villagers in the Indian state of West Bengal to fall back on an old tradition — the frog wedding. The villagers pooled their money to pay for the wedding of two frogs named Ram and Sita, named for the two primary characters in the Sanskrit epic the Ramayana.

From Reuters:

Following an ancient Hindu belief, the frogs’ heads were smeared with vermilion paint and the pair were held up in the air in a ritual in front of a traditional clay candle.

“We feted about 3,000 villagers and solemnized the marriage with every single ritual,” Shobin Ray, head of a local council in Madhya Baragari village, about 750 km [470 miles] north of state capital Kolkata, told Reuters by phone.

As part of the ceremony, the nearby river was invited to join the celebration and asked for its blessing of the marriage, according to local custom.

I think this should probably come with a “Don’t try this at home” disclaimer. Those frogs look unenthused.

Love is a Battlefield

Feb. 14, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Love is a Battlefield

I have to say I was relieved when the person who submitted this photo had already titled it “Love is a Battlefield.” Because I was going to title it something far more inappropriate, with way less 80s kitsch and no Pat Benatar. Thank you for saving me from something I would surely regret, submitter. Happy Valentine’s Day, indeed!

The High Life

Funny Wedding Photos - The High Life

This is the wedding that has it all: A traditionally-dressed bride, a baby, a shotgun, some cheap beer, a birdhouse and lots of smiling family members. Looks like fun to me!

BRIDEZILLA TAKES MANHATTAN!

Feb. 10, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - BRIDEZILLA TAKES MANHATTAN!

I’m kinda loving this picture. The ginormous bride, the look on her face (“Yeah, that’s right”), not to mention the fact that her groom is either pretending to check his watch, offer his arm up to his bride, or lean up against a fence that is clearly behind him. These two make me happy.

Indecisive Bride Wore Nine Dresses

Feb. 9, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Indecisive Bride Wore Nine Dresses

According to the Daily Mail, this bride just couldn’t make up her mind.

The 25-year-old model bought 18 gowns at a cost of more than £20,000. And on the day itself she wore nine of them at different stages, from the ceremony itself to the disco that went on into the early hours.

‘Every time I tried a dress on I just had to have it,’ said the new Mrs Glass at the couple’s home in Guildford, Surrey. ‘But as soon as I took it home and compared it to the other dresses I had already bought, I couldn’t bear to choose.

‘By the end I knew that 18 was too many and I wouldn’t have time to wear them all, so I thought about the different stages of the wedding and decided nine was perfect.’

She added: ‘We’ve decided to renew our vows next summer and I plan to wear ten dresses then. I’m addicted.’

Wowza.
