Funeral Director Wedding

Feb. 24, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Funeral Director Wedding

If this picture is any indication, this couple sure loves what they do for a living. According to the submitter they were “married in a cemetery, drove in a hearse, their wedding cake had little hearses on it, and they were married by another funeral director!”

Wow. I just wish I knew what ‘little hearses’ taste like. I feel like they would taste like a dusty old coffin.

Powerful Wedding Cake

Feb. 19, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Superhero wedding cake

The submitter says, “This wedding cake features superhero logos & such.” Good explanation! I especially like the gold “rope” icing around the base. It might not taste good, but it’s shiny! I kind of feel like overall the cake looks like a parade float. A parade float of awesome.

“My Big Fat Redneck Wedding”!

Feb. 18, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - "My Big Fat Redneck Wedding"!

We’ve already seen photos from this amazing reality TV series in the UK, and now we have “My Big Fat Redneck Wedding” on American programming. Something for everyone! From the Herald-Tribune:

The groom wore camouflage.

The bride did, too, with little red shotgun shells poking out of her bouquet.

They married beneath an arch made of mufflers. Their first toast was from a beer funnel. They honeymooned at a Charlotte County mud-bogging camp called the Redneck Yacht Club.

Chris and Jennifer Rodriguez went all out for a reality TV show called “My Big Redneck Wedding,” which airs at 8:30 p.m. Friday on Country Music Television.

Ah, CMT. The network that brings you the best-of-the-best from them redneck parts. Apparently even the inside of the wedding cake was camouflage. That’s dedication.

Giant Snow Cone Wedding Cake?!

Feb. 16, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Giant Snow Cone Wedding Cake?!

I sure hope this wedding cake comes with delicious flavored sugar syrup toppings. Otherwise, I’m not quite sure I understand it. Don’t tease your guests with a pure white wedding cake and not provide flavored toppings! It’s practically a crime!

Also, is the top stable? The physics of this cake confuse me. I am easily confused.

Sheer Cuteness: It’sa Me, Mario!

Feb. 16, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Sheer Cuteness: It'sa Me, Mario!

Here’s what I love about this cake: Aside from being totally awesome, the submitter/bride sent it in with a note that she’d heard that “I like Super Mario wedding cakes.” So not only did she send in this masterpiece of cuteness, she informed me that I’m actually known for my love of Mario cakes. Crossing my fingers that means one winds up on my doorstep one day very soon…

Valentine’s Day Weddings: Empire State of Mind

Feb. 14, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Valentine's Day Weddings: Empire State of Mind

You knew this was coming — couples who get married, some as early as 7 A.M., at the Empire State Building. It’s an annual tradition! According to Gothamist:

The weddings take place on the 61st floor every 30 minutes, after which time the couple heads up to the Observatory for a photoshoot. The 14 couples won their spots in a contest, and have come from all over the nation

Congrats to all the newlyweds out there, and Happy Valentine’s Day once again!
