ATV Enthusiasts Eat Tires at Nuptials

Jan. 27, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - ATV Enthusiasts Eat Tires at Nuptials

Here’s the description the submitter gave:

A themed wedding cake. This was the only wedding cake, it is not a grooms cake. It is a sand paddle tire for a fourwheeler, topped with a smooth sand tire, finished off with a piston. Silverware was complete with motorcycle handle grips…=)

Whoa. I don’t even understand what that means, other than this cake is intense.

One Way to do a Cake Cutting

Jan. 27, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - One Way to do a Cake Cutting

Did they decide to get a cheesecake to complement the cheesiness of that Rambo knife? According to this site, it looks like the knife used in Rambo III — a movie I haven’t even seen. But rest assured based on this cake-cutting picture, I plan to change that asap. Also, I hope the bride and groom each ate their respective halves of that “top tier.” Looks yummy.

Darth Vader Cufflinks!

Jan. 26, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Darth Vader Cufflinks!

Uh-oh! Looks like we’ve got a competition on our hands wrists. First we saw these awesome Batman cufflinks, but now teeny tiny Darth Vader cufflinks have come along and I just can’t decide which ones I like more! Maybe it’s a day vs night thing… Batman is more casual and Darth Vader is for formal planet destroying? Er, I mean, dining.

Oh, Hipsters and Their Facial Hair Props

Jan. 25, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Oh, Hipsters and Their Facial Hair Props

Look how ironic! They are just so darn quirky. Actually, I do like the Groucho Marx mask the bride is wearing. I hope she wore it during the ceremony. There’s something wonderfully natural about the way it fits her face.

Cabbage Patch Dreams

Jan. 25, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Cabbage Patch Dreams

The submitter says, “My sister-in-law was attached at the hip to her cabbage patch doll as a kid. Sooo, my mother-in-law had these made for her when she got married. Now she has to keep them on display at all times in case of a surprise visit from mom!”

I have to say I think there’s a difference between incorporating some nostalgic items versus other nostalgic items at a wedding. “Star Wars,” Tim Burton movies and video games seem different to me than Cabbage Patch dolls, Popples, or Ducktales memorabilia. Maybe I’m alone on this, but I find these dolls to be a little odd. Cute! But odd.

Bioshock Wedding Cupcakes!

Jan. 25, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Bioshock Wedding Cake

Here’s what the bride had to say about these cupcakes:

These amazing cupcakes were decorated to reflect the art deco aspects of our favorite video game, Bioshock. They had edible blue Morpho butterflies, a reference to the game and to our “proney” (pre-honey) moon to Costa Rica. Topping the tower of cupcakes were two figurines from the game.

Mmmm….blue Morpho butterflies….

Another Super Mario Cake? Fine By Me.

Jan. 24, 2011

Funny Wedding Photos - Another Super Mario Cake? Fine By Me.

The submitter says, “My daughter’s wedding theme was ‘video gaming’, so the cake included Mario & Peach Toadstool!” To which I reply, “Ahhhhmazing!” This cake is awesome! Sure, we’ve already seen this one and this one, but hey, I’ll take as many come my way. *cue 8-bit theme music*
