Oh wait, I mean “Bridezilla.”

we were facing the photographer and this blind man coming out of the buiding behind us literally plowed into me and over my dress. apparantly that cane doesn’t work as well as expected in detecting obstacles like an entire wedding party in one’s path!

You know, I don’t usually do this but this submitter’s commentary made me cringe.

HE’S BLIND. You are blessed with the infinitely wonderful gift of sight. So he ruined one of your shots? Let’s put things in perspective here, and be glad that you can.

The pastor (also father of the groom) made us these posable cake toppers using one of our engagement photos. The bride’s dress and the maid of honor’s dress were both hand-made, as well as the bouquet of ceramic flowers (which did NOT get thrown)… all this done (including food, music, etc.) for less than $500.

Totally adorable and thrifty too! Unfortunately not everyone comes from a crafty family. Some of us were born to engineers who would probably get waylaid perfecting the trajectory of the monster limbs and not have them done in time for the reception. Oh engineers, that’ll do, that’ll do.

I’m kinda loving this picture. The ginormous bride, the look on her face (“Yeah, that’s right”), not to mention the fact that her groom is either pretending to check his watch, offer his arm up to his bride, or lean up against a fence that is clearly behind him. These two make me happy.

So, there’s a show in the UK that focuses on “the extravagant nuptials between young traveller couples” i.e. gypsies, and the latest season “follows the trials of several more teenage brides.” Oh, what a trial this dress appears to be.

The Daily Mail:

One of the most fascinating, and visually arresting, was the episode featuring 17-year-old Sam Norton. Unlike most of the girls featured, who have been steeped in gypsy culture from birth, she is an outsider marrying into a traveller family. But that is not stopping her from embracing all the traditions of her future husband’s family – including a lavish dress.

‘Because I’m not a gypsy, all the guests expected me to opt for something modest, but I wanted to go traditional to prove I was one of them,’ she explained.

By ‘traditional’, of course, Sam means over-the-top fairytale princess, and her 20st gown was no exception.

The pink taffeta creation had 24 petticoats and an 8ft train. It was embellished with mechanical butterflies on the bodice and UV lights in the veil, all powered by 12 batteries stowed under the petticoat.

Sam would not disclose how much her family spent on the dress, because ‘gypsies don’t talk about money’, but admits it cost ‘thousands’.

May I just say… Holy. S***balls.

So many things to love about this picture. The bride’s face is kinda funny on its own, but then if you just pan your eyes over to ole Grandma, and she’s basically not paying to her granddaughter whatsoever because of an intriguing pair of pumps, the picture goes from good to great. I can’t tell if she’s looking at the shoes disapprovingly, or if she’s thinking of slipping them on herself. They would look chic with that flower print dress. Oh, Grandmas.
