We’ve already seen photos from this amazing reality TV series in the UK, and now we have “My Big Fat Redneck Wedding” on American programming. Something for everyone! From the Herald-Tribune:

The groom wore camouflage.

The bride did, too, with little red shotgun shells poking out of her bouquet.

They married beneath an arch made of mufflers. Their first toast was from a beer funnel. They honeymooned at a Charlotte County mud-bogging camp called the Redneck Yacht Club.

Chris and Jennifer Rodriguez went all out for a reality TV show called “My Big Redneck Wedding,” which airs at 8:30 p.m. Friday on Country Music Television.

Ah, CMT. The network that brings you the best-of-the-best from them redneck parts. Apparently even the inside of the wedding cake was camouflage. That’s dedication.

Yikes. This cake has a case of the measles and the mumps. I’m not sure I’d want to eat a cake sporting a contagious disease . And I hope the groom’s camo vest was better looking in real life than it is in cake topper form. It’s kind of like this is the wedding cake that people would eat in a bizarro world where camouflage is popular among pre-teen girls. But hey, at least the groom is carrying a rifle so people know what the cake is supposed to look like!

Aww, the groom’s “suit” is lighter-colored camo than the groomsmens’. How well thought-out. I’m assuming the reception dinner will be freshly killed right after the ceremony, because otherwise I see no real point in wearing all that matching gear. I mean, there’s got to be a reason for it, right? It can’t just be aesthetics? Unless of course he’s marrying this girl. Then I could understand. She seems like a fan of the look.

OK, so this is a fall wedding? Who doesn’t want to rock camo couture? It’s totally on-trend. Plus, the bride and groom are color-coordinated. They look relaxed, happy and ready to kill some animals for the dinner reception. All elements that make a good wedding.

See, this is what I’ve been saying for years: BASS PRO NEEDS A WEDDING REGISTRY. Some people could give a hoot about fancy dishes and expensive bedding. This couple would be perfectly happy with some tackle accessories, GPS units and a couple of reel and rod combos. Give ‘em something to use on their honeymoon, not something that’ll sit in a closet for 20 years!

Well here’s an example of camouflage totally defeating its original purpose. Did she climb up a ladder to step into this thing? It’s quite  spacious. Are they going to put it up for rent on Craigslist when the wedding’s over? “Roomy interior, no bath but will get you laid.”

Someone splurged and got a new pair of painter’s paints for his wedding! I hope the dinner he killed for the reception tastes better than the trellis looks. I’ve been to high school dances with better photo backdrops than that sad deer blind. 

And why are they at the VFW? Definitely should’ve stepped it up and rented the lodge where this guy got hitched. You only get married once!
