If you’re going to make a shoe cake, practice it a couple times before the big day. Making one that looks like crap is sad on its own, but adding a few cheap waxy votives and random berry branches just sends me into a depression spiral. Unless the candles are meant to be used to set the cake on fire. That I could understand.

Last week we saw a “traditional” armadillo groom’s cake, and today it appears we’re looking at a possum groom’s cake! Or…another armadillo that looks like a possum! Or…if you prefer the terminology that I do: Roadkill Groom’s Cake! Yummy yum yum. Delish! What I wouldn’t do for a slice of that tail.

Oh, hello there incredibly weird groom’s cake. You look very small and unappetizing. And you remind me of “Steel Magnolias.” Are you filled with red velvet cake so it looks like you’re bleeding, too? I don’t think I want to know. Also, how many people do you intend to feed? Like six? You’re the tiniest armadillo I’ve ever seen, both real and cake. I almost feel sorry for you, little guy.

I have a love/hate relationship with this groom’s cake. I mean, we’ve seen some pretty slammin’ cakes on Wedinator. Remember the H.R. Giger cake? Or the Greatest Nerd Cake Of All Time and the series of nostalgic wedding cakes? Those were badass.
This cake looks like it was made with love, but by a drunk person. Speaking from experience, there is nothing un-delicious about a drunk cake. It’s just not as refined as a cake made by someone between the hours of 9am and 6pm. But it’s still pretty cool. Just not Ace Of Cakes material.
Did you know today is Star Wars Day? It’s true. And awesome. Let’s celebrate by staring at Star Wars-themed cakes that other people got to eat, starting with AT-AT deliciousness at its finest:

This cake is super sweet on multiple levels. The only thing that would make it better is if it was an ice cream cake. (Is the white slab supposed to be ice?) But overall it looks good and appears easy to cut…unlike this R2D2 cake:

Aww. It’s a celebration, not a sacrifice! Do they HAVE to eat him? He’s just so cute. Plus, how does one request a slice of R2D2? “I’d like a piece of his hologram projector, please!” It just seems cruel. And yet, oh-so-tasty. Mmmm…droids.

Supposedly George Lucas said the Millenium Falcon’s design is based on a hamburger, but I think this groom’s cake will do just fine. I love that it has the ‘Just Married’ sign on it. That really takes it from “child’s birthday cake” status to “awesome wedding cake” status. I wonder what the inside tastes like?
