Rube Goldberg Proposal is Long and Complex but Adorable All the Same

Oct. 6, 2010

At nearly eight minutes, this video is certainly….long. But, much like with any Rube Goldberg experiment, the payoff is that much sweeter. It’s not just about the final result (guy builds machine, guy asks girl to marry him, girl says yes); it’s also about the process. This dude was so excited to ask his girlfriend of nine and a half years to marry him that he turned the proposal into an outlandish sport. I like that. He wanted to impress her, and he even queued up the Rocky theme song to celebrate the victory. What surprise could be cuter than that?

Man ALIVE, Dudes Have a Lot to Live Up to These Days

Sep. 23, 2010

All right, everyone just give up. Men, women, kids, dogs — don’t bother proposing marriage to your loved one, because you won’t be able to top this. It’s the perfect blend of romance, technology, surprise, thoughtfulness and creativity. The groom could not be more sincere. It’s almost painful. I need to go eat a giant box of Mallomars and watch “Sleepless in Seattle” several times in a row, kthx.

Tumblr User’s Wedding Dreams Come True With the Help of Community

Sep. 16, 2010

This is a three-part saga that involves Tumblr user KrisKristoffersonsBeard, his bride-to-be, Andrew W.K., and a whole lotta love. Let’s get started. First, Kris (if I may call him that) proposed to his girlfriend live on stage in front of 100+ people after his set was over:

Then he begged and pleaded with the Tumblr community to PLEASE do whatever it takes to get Andrew W.K.’s attention so he could potentially play the upcoming wedding. The Tumblr community was like, “No probs, we make dreams come true, Mr. K.,” and shortly thereafter a new post appeared:

Well, what do you think happened next? I’ll give you three guesses, and none of them can be, “Andrew W.K. is actually booked up and can’t make the wedding after all.” Because you KNOW that what really happened is this:

My work here is done.

Photobooth Engagement WIN!

Aug. 9, 2010

Normally I find it’s hard to do just about anything in the space of those 4 photobooth frames. I’ve tried basic stuff like putting on sunglasses in one frame and removing them in another, and even that didn’t work out whatsoever. So I’m pretty impressed with this awesome 4-strip o’ facial expressions. Congrats to the highly photogenic couple!

Sheer Awesome Video: Marriage Proposal Frozen In Time

Jul. 21, 2010

Video via Urlesque

I’d love to make fun of this, really I would, if someone could just….hand me…a tissue…

OK, I admit it: This proposal is awesome! The video may be long, but it’s totally worth seeing how the plan all comes together. Plus, it’s a couple that met on Match.com, is attractive AND not completely crazy? For reals? I thought those didn’t exist. I guess I’ll take their commercials a little more seriously now.

If You Liked It Then You Shoulda Put a Ring In Her Intestines

Funny Wedding Photos - If You Liked It Then You Shoulda Put a Ring In Her Intestines

Submitted by: dunno source via Submit Page

Oooooops! That wasn’t the way the proposal was supposed to go. Probably should have re-thought that lasagna surprise. Popping the question at dinner works a lot better when the ring is hidden in a glass of champagne or something translucent. Now…it’s just several thousand dollars hanging out near a ribcage.
