The 16th Annual World Wife Carrying Championships were held in Finland on July 2nd. The competition is essentially just like it sounds, men complete obstacle courses while carrying their spouses.
The roots of these comical championships are thought to date back to the late 1800s when Finnish villagers would steal women and carry them away on their backs.
SIGH, dating is so complicated these days. See? It used to be really easy!
