Save the Date: “Rushmore” Style

Oct. 22, 2010

I like these crazy kids. I like their style. You know why? Because judging by their looks, I’m guessing they were about 12 when the movie “Rushmore” came out. So for them it’s like a retro type of thing, like if my fiance and I made a save-the-date inspired by “Rosemary’s Baby”…or something. It’s cute. I hope we get to see more of their wedding come April!

Dog Gets Territorial on the Bride

Oct. 6, 2010

It’s moments like these that you either turn into a total bridezilla or just roll with the punches. Having catered weddings for a few years in college, I can assure you that some women would have had an out-of-body, Exorcist-style experience if a dog pissed on their skirt on the Big Day. But this bride is remarkably chill.

Maybe it’s because she’s still in shock. Or maybe it’s because she’s a rational human being who can see the humor in a dog marking his territory on her expensive dress. Either way, I’m so glad that people film every little thing these days so we can witness this wonderful FAIL. I watched it at least three times.

Tumblr User’s Wedding Dreams Come True With the Help of Community

Sep. 16, 2010

This is a three-part saga that involves Tumblr user KrisKristoffersonsBeard, his bride-to-be, Andrew W.K., and a whole lotta love. Let’s get started. First, Kris (if I may call him that) proposed to his girlfriend live on stage in front of 100+ people after his set was over:

Then he begged and pleaded with the Tumblr community to PLEASE do whatever it takes to get Andrew W.K.’s attention so he could potentially play the upcoming wedding. The Tumblr community was like, “No probs, we make dreams come true, Mr. K.,” and shortly thereafter a new post appeared:

Well, what do you think happened next? I’ll give you three guesses, and none of them can be, “Andrew W.K. is actually booked up and can’t make the wedding after all.” Because you KNOW that what really happened is this:

My work here is done.

Viral Video: Man Forced To Marry Girlfriend Goes Berserk

Jul. 27, 2010

“Marriage is said to be one of the most joyous occasions in one’s life. But joy isn’t the exact word that can describe this man’s mood. Forget being happy; this groom is light years away from even smiling.” Wow. I haven’t seen anyone freak out like this since that awful bee scene in My Girl. Is he allergic to his hot wife??

Sheer Awesome Video: Marriage Proposal Frozen In Time

Jul. 21, 2010

Video via Urlesque

I’d love to make fun of this, really I would, if someone could just….hand me…a tissue…

OK, I admit it: This proposal is awesome! The video may be long, but it’s totally worth seeing how the plan all comes together. Plus, it’s a couple that met on Match.com, is attractive AND not completely crazy? For reals? I thought those didn’t exist. I guess I’ll take their commercials a little more seriously now.

Man Proposes To Girlfriend With Graffiti Mural

Jul. 16, 2010

via NYMag via The High Definite

This video wins for Most Colorful Wedding Proposal Ever. Also worth noting: These days, if you don’t hire someone to create a graffiti mural with an accompanying viral video when you propose marriage to your significant other, you’re basically a jerk. Good luck!

Old Spice Guy Proposal

Jul. 14, 2010

via Mashable

Did you catch yesterday’s amazing viral YouTube campaign with Old Spice guy? If not, you should check out the new videos. Old Spice guy AKA Isaiah Mustafa made dozens of videos responding directly to Twitter fans, including one guy on a mission for love. He sent Old Spice guy a tweet that read, “Can U Ask my girlfriend to marry me? Her name is Angela A. Hutt-Chamberlin” and Old Spice guy promptly whipped up the candlelight video above.

The best part? She said yes! (And her fiance posted a picture of her bling to prove it.) Aww. I’m just waiting for the movie to come out. It’ll be called Love Gone Viral.
